More of the Boys Playing

More pics and videos of the boys playing...

Before you ask I want to answer a couple things:
#1) Yes our house is apparently very dark. Sorry about the dark videos.

#2) The boys play together well more than they don't.

#3) Yes Logan does trip Cody like at the end of this last video at least once a day...if not more...

Happy Hour

Hi....so I suck at blogging....

I'm finally posting pictures/videos from my surprise Happy Hour for my birthday. My goal this weekend was to get all the videos and pictures I have uploaded and do a bunch of blog posts, but of course the internet at home was acting up so I couldn't upload anything. It took me all day to upload this video of my surprise Happy Hour. My goal is to upload a bunch of things at work tomorrow and get a bunch of blog posts out this week. But don't hold your breath...

Anyway, so my wonderful husband, friends and co-workers surprised me with a little happy hour for my birthday. It was unexpected and super fun! Nothing major, just a little get together for some wings and beer. Here's the video of me walking in and a few pictures.

[OK so I can't get the pictures to work either...I'll upload them tomorrow am and update this post.]

Seattle Edition

So I promised to blog more...and I'm not starting the year off real great...

Last week was my 30th birthday...as you all know already...but what you don't know is that Tuesday my wonderful husband and friends and co-workers planned a little surprise happy hour for me. Nothing major and something they threw together at the last min. but still really great!! I've got pictures and a video of me walking in (courtesy of Shutterbug) but haven't uploaded them yet. I'll get to that this weekend and post them for you.

Then Friday morning we headed out on a trip "far far away" to see the Jacobs. It's been forever since we've went to Appleton to see them and the trip was LONG overdue!! It was AWESOME! Brian had about 100 pounds of meat that he wanted to process with Luke at the meat market. When we got there on Friday him and Luke went straight to the market and started processing the meat. They called about about 7 and said that things weren't going very well and they'd be a little later than they had expected. When they got home, they informed us that they had broken the stuffer. Brian, the fixer that he is, tried to fix it but wasn't successful. This drove him crazy and he was bound and determined to fix it the next morning. In the morning they left to find the part they needed to fix the stuffer...which they did find...but it turned out that didn't fix things. So long story short, Brian told me this morning that the 'stuffer repair guy' couldn't fix the stuffer either; so it looks like Jacobs Meat Market is getting a new stuffer. I feel so bad and Brian's going insane. He told Luke to ship the stuffer to him and he'd fix it no matter what. :-) Awe, my little fixer!

Along with all the stuffer fixing we tried to do in Appleton, we also managed to squeeze in a ton of other things. Us adults managed to get out on the town, have a few drinks, throw some darts and swing some golf clubs at the Paper Valley. Then Saturday we took the kids to Monkey Joe's and let them run around. Logan LOVED that place. It took a while for him to get warmed up to it, but once he realized how much fun it was he was totally hooked. He went on one bounce thing about 393 times. After Monkey Joe's we took the kids back for lunch and naps. During nap time Angie and I headed to the mall for a Mani-Pedi and some shopping. Then after that we headed back to their place to watch the Packers kick some ass! It was the icing on the cake for a perfect weekend!!

Then Sunday morning we headed home across the state. We got home about 12 and then at 2 I had to leave for the airport and my trip to Seattle for work. The trip out here was good and things are going well...but talk about a whirl-wind weekend! Anyway...I had the best of intentions to take all kinds of pictures of the kids this weekend and of course didn't. I never seemed to have my camera when I needed it and the kids were always long gone by the time I got it. I really need to work on that!

OK...back to work for me. :-)

Thirties

Today I'm 30. What can I say...I half expected to wake up this morning to go for a run and not be able to breath past the half mile point...or find that Mother Natures birthday give to me was 8 new wrinkles in places I've never had them before...but for the most part today is a normal everyday day. Other than Brian getting up early and making me a ham, egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast and doing the laundry for me it's just a typical Tuesday.

Logan was a little confused this morning when Brian asked him, "Do you know who's birthday it is today?" He responded, "Mine!". He was a little disappointed when Brian told him no it was Mom's birthday. Although Brian mentioned something about making a cake today with April and he got excited after that. Before I left for work today it wasn't, "You're going to work to make money for me?", it was "it's your birthday?" with a confused look. This age is so fun, but also very confusing for little kids. :-)

I can't help but sing Tim McGraw's song, "My Next 30 Years" in my head all day today. My next 30 years...what will they bring. In looking back on the first 30 years I can say I don't have a single regret. Brian and I were talking the other day and saying how we might not 'have it all' meaning money or toys or other things, but we really do 'have it all'. Good friends and family, great jobs, an awesome house/ranch, two adorable and (for the most part) well-behaved kids, and each other. I'm so blessed to have such an amazing life and am grateful to have you all in it. Thank you for the birthday wishes and here's to another wonderful 30 years!!

Work

Tee: Give me a kiss Logan, I've got to go to work.

Logan: Why? I don't want you to go.

Tee: I have to go to work so we can have food and clothes and money.

Logan: Money for my baseball bank? (Kelly got him a baseball piggy bank for Christmas and he LOVES putting money in it.)

Tee: Well sort of, but ya I guess.

-------------------------------------------------------
This was the exchange Logan and I had Monday morning. This is the exchange we've had almost every morning since.
-------------------------------------------------------

Tee: Give me a kiss I've got to go to work.

Logan: To make money for me?

Tee [laughing]: Yup to make money for Logan.

-------------------------------------------------------
Seems I'm not working for the man any more, but for Logan. :-)

Stream of Consciousness

I promised to post more in 2011 so I'm adding another post today...although I don't really have much to share. So I'm stealing a line from Kelle Hampton and going with a Stream of Consciousness.

Logan LOVES play-dough...as many of you know since you got it for him for Christmas. His favorite thing to do with it however is to 'make cookies'. He makes circles from it and some times puts in on a tray like below...
Photobucket

or he'll put it in a cookie jar. He then carries it around the house. He'll do other things like play with Cody, always with his cookie jar filled with Play-dough cookies near by. Goofball!

We took him to our Family Physician last night to have his eyes checked. He's been crossing his right eye for the last two weeks or so. Our doctor referred us to see an eye dr specifically because he did see some divergence in his eyes. The next opening the eye dr. had was Jan. 24th and the appointment is going to be two hours. We barely got through the 15 min appt yesterday...not sure how we'll get through a 2 hour appointment. Any suggestions would be great. My co-worker suggested getting a little doctors kit and let him play with that for a while before the appt. I might...I guess it's worth a shot.

As for my little Cody Mouse, he still hasn't gotten his cuspid teeth yet...none of them. His 2 year old molars are swollen but his cuspids still don't show any signs of coming in. He's been crabby and had a cold and diaper rash so I know he's teething, but for some reason those teeth will just not come in. Makes no sense to me at all. I'm not going to worry about it for a while, but it baffles me. Other than that he's just plain cute. He does everything his big brother does and he does it with a smile. He knows when he's not suppose to do something, but does it anyway. Just recently he's started saying more words. The other night Brian was yelling at the dogs to 'shut up' and now Cody loves to yell 'shut up' around the house...nice Dad. :-)

Other than that we're just trying to stay warm. Wrestling is going well for Brian and he's had a hell of a snow season...as well all know. April Seiberlich is home for winter break and watching the boys for us again. We really love her! Work is going well for me, but busy which is ok cause it stops me from thinking about the big birthday I've got coming up.....

Seeing Santa

My Sister came home on Dec. 17th for my brother Mitchell's graduation from UWEC. Congrats Mitchell!! She had called me a while ago and asked if she could go with to take the boys to go see Santa. Sure I said! So Sunday was Krebsbach Christmas, so we swung in there for a bit and then headed to Rosedale to see Santa. Holy crap...the mall was totally chaotic!! I was so glad at that point that I had all my Christmas shopping done...and that I've done most of my shopping on-line for the last couple of years.

Photobucket

The boys did good standing in line...well as good as a 2 and 1 year old can do. They walked around a bit and it helped that there was this train that runs around the mall and every time it would go past Logan would stand and stare at it. I think he wanted to ride the train more than he wanted to see Santa.

Waiting in the 'snow'

I told him if he was brave and told Santa what he wanted for Christmas that he could ride the train after. We walked right up to Santa and said, "I would like a bow and arrow for Christmas please Santa." It was so cute. He didn't want to sit on his lap but we got an adorable picture of the 4 of us with Santa. Then as we were leaving he ran back to Santa and asked him again, "I would like a bow and arrow for Christmas please Santa." I just laughed and said he heard you bud, lets go. Well it wasn't until we got home that I realized why he ran back to Santa and asked him again. He just started bawling, "Santa didn't give me my bow and arrow!" over and over. hehehe...he thought that he would get his gift right then and there. Poor kid. This Santa thing is confusing though. How do you explain to them that Santa only come on Christmas...when he makes appearances at Meyer Family Christmas and we go see him after that to tell him what we want?

Riding the train.

This year though he really started to understand that he got presents at Christmas time. The day after Christmas he asked me if it was Christmas Eve again. And when I was taking down the Christmas tree he was so upset because he knew that meant no more presents. He's too funny though cause he's at the stage where he doesn't really care what's in the presents, he just wants to open them. As for Cody....he just sits back and takes it all in. He didn't get too excited about the presents or really cared what was in them. He just wants to do whatever Logan is doing. And Logan's at the stage where he LOVES for Cody to do whatever he's doing. Cody always has to wear the same outfit as Logan (or at least a similar one) and Logan will yell, "Cody want to go play in my room?" or "Cody want to play with play-dough?" They don't usually end up playing 'together' but more like playing in the same room, but it's still too cute and so fun to watch!!! I'm sure it won't be long and they'll want nothing to do with each other...or they'll be fighting constantly, but for now I'll enjoy them getting along! :-)

New Years Resolution

My New Years Resolution is to be a more diligent blogger. I've totally fell of the map when it comes to updating this thing and I really want to do better at it!!

I'll back up to Meyer Family...which was Dec. 11th this year. This was the first year that Santa made an appearance at Meyer Family Christmas. We had it up at Jack and Karen's again and Santa managed to find us...even a couple weeks early.

Logan didn't really want much to do with Santa either. I don't know if he was really scared of him or if he just hadn't figured him out yet. He had been telling me for so long that he wanted Santa to bring him a Bow and Arrow for Christmas and then a few weeks before Christmas had changed his mind to an Airplane. Santa must have known that because he brought Logan an airplane. After Logan realized that Santa had given him an airplane, something he really wanted and had asked him for, then he was all about Santa. He went running up to him and gave him a big hug and said Thank You. It was too cute!

OK, more Christmas posts to come...and again...I promise to get better at this blogging thing this year!
