Carving Pumpkins

Yesterday Logie, Shutterbug and I carved our pumpkins. Logan loves pumpkins for some reason and gets really excited when he sees them...so I figured he'd love carving pumpkins. And of course he did...he just didn't like putting his hand in the pumpkin and taking out all the guts. Here's a video of it. He just wanted Mom to do it. His favorite part was trying to get the top of the pumpkin to go back on. :-) Next year I bet he digs right in and gets all the gunk out.

Side Note: Logan just LOVES the shirt he has on in the video. Grandma Meyer got it for him for Halloween. He thinks it's so cool cause it lights up. He wants to wear it every day. I've had to wash it almost every day this week for him. Oh well, it makes him happy!

Sherri helped Logan with the knife work.

This is what Cody was doing while we were carving pumpkins.

The finished products. The one on the left is suppose to be an L and a C for Logan and Cody.

Here's a preview of what Logan and Cody will be wearing on Saturday. Logan's daycare is having a Halloween party today so he got to wear his costume today as well. As for Cody he's got three costumes...or well...really onesies. He's going to wear the Ghost one for actual Halloween, but here's him in his bones one below.

Bones.

Things have been going well here. Brian's out in ND hunting right now, but should be back tonight or tomorrow. Then he's got another week of paternity time off. It's going to be great having Daddy home with us for a week...then Mom's back to work! :-(

Cody's really smiling a lot these days. Here's a video I took of him the other day. He really likes his changing table and smiles pretty much every time you put him on it...that and cause you're taking off his clothes and he likes to be naked.

As for Logan...well he's just at the "I can get into everything...no really EVERYTHING" stage. He'll push his little stool over to the counters and can reach almost all the way to the back, so literally nothings safe on the counters. He's figured out how to open the doors now too...only twice have I found him out in the garage playing. Yes he can open the door to the garage...stinker!

Here's a couple pictures of the boys during bath time. Both Cody and Logan love their baths.

Corn Maze

Not too much going on at the Ranch this weekend. Sunday we took advantage of the gorgeous weather and went to the Shafer Corn Maze with Debbie, Mikey, Stella, Weston and Becky. It was a lot of fun. They had a petting zoo with ducks, miniature horse, calf, goats, pigs, etc. They've got two main Corn Mazes, one short one and one longer one. We did the short one. Logan loved running in a the maze and took the lead right away. We just let him run for a while, get us good and lost, and then Brian and Mikey took over and figured out where we were and how to get out. Here's a few pictures...

Logan stuck in the spider web.

Stella was dancing to the music.

This is what Cody did the whole time we were there.

Before we went to the Corn Maze though, we stopped at Becky's house. She's got two horses at her house right now that she's boarding for a friend. Logan LOVED sitting on the horse! In the video he's laughing not crying...it was pretty comical!

Boots and Smiles

The big news at the Ranch is Cody is smiling! All day yesterday he smiled. He didn't really smile for me much, but he smiled for Auntie Kim a lot. She was lucky enough to get it on camera too! He's so cute! The picture is kind of blurry, but you can definitely tell he's smiling! He's getting so big so fast! Three more weeks off before Mom has to go back to work and little Cody mouse has to go to daycare.

Boots = Smiles for Logan. I got Logan his first pair of winter boots on Wednesday and he loves them! He loves shoes anyways; loves putting them on and taking them off. He walks around the house in his shoes all day long. And of course the boots are even cooler than the shoes. The nice thing about the boots is that he can put them on and take them off himself. His shoes he needs some help still, so the boots are a nice break for Mom. Auntie Kim was fortunate enough to get this video of Logan playing with his new boots and if you listen carefully you'll here him say, "ba-ball" aka "baseball". He loves to watch Brian play baseball on the Wii and anytime he sees the Wii controllers he thinks we're going to play "ba-ball". He also just really likes baseball and football. He was so excited when we went to the Osceola High School football game a couple weeks ago. He was jumping up and down and saying "foo-ball". We were at Target picking out his sheets for his "big boy" bed and of course he wanted the sheets with the "ba-ball" on them. It's so cute!

One Month

Can you believe Cody's one month old already? Ok, so he's technically older than that cause this post is late, but seriously has it been a month already? He's definitely gotten bigger, but he's still just a little peanut, or as I like to call him "Mini Mouse"...mini like small not Minnie like the girl mouse.

Here's a few videos from Oct. 8th. Just me and the boys hanging out...

What else has been happening at the Ranch...

Here's a picture of Logan going "nigh night".

We rearranged the upstairs bedrooms so that Logan has his "big boy" bed in the bedroom at the top of the stairs. He's not sleeping in it yet since Cody's still sleeping in the bassinet in our room, but it won't be long and Logan will be moving to the "big boy" bed. I think he's starting to get ready for it, as you can tell by the picture above. He loves to climb on the couch and cover up and go "nigh night". Only problem is he never actually falls asleep...he just lays there for about two mins and then jumps up and starts playing again. Oh well I'm sure we'll figure it out when the time comes. He's also been very interested in going potty on the "big boy" potty. Of course he always tells us after he's gone, but at least he's interested in it. Brian and I aren't really going to start trying to potty train him until after Christmas, but it's a good sign.

Since winter decided to trump fall and come early, Logan has to bundle up when he goes for 4-wheeler rides with Brian. This was him ready to go outside a week or so ago. Hehe the jacket's a little small for him...

This past weekend we had a photographer come out to our house and take some pictures of the entire Meyer family...all 18 of us! It was really funny to see so many people wearing white shirts and jeans! I hope the pictures turn out good, which I'm sure they will. Here are a few snaps from Saturday.
