Logan and his Bike...Helmet

We got this little bike from a co-worker of mine and Logan's finally big enough to ride it this year. In keeping with his tradition of always wanting to wear a hat/helmet of some kind (or boots/shoes/gloves) he's obsessed with wearing his bike helmet when he rides his bike. Oh who am I kidding...he's obsessed with wearing his bike helmet ALL THE TIME.

The helmet we had for him, given to us by my co-worker was too big for him. So Brian told him we'd get him a new one. He asked about his new bike helmet almost every day. Then one day him and I were at Walmart and he asked if he could get his new bike helmet. I said sure and we headed to the helmets right after entering the store. We picked out a Spiderman helmet and of course had to try it on to see if it would fit. Well of course he didn't want to take it off after that. So the rest of the time at Walmart he wore his bike helmet around the store. Which wouldn't be THAT weird except the helmet still had the packaging on it so there was this big cardboard bill on the helmet that stuck up. And the icing on the cake is that the bike helmet came with one of those squeaky horns for his bike. So he's wearing this helmet with the cardboard bill around Walmart and squeaking this horn on his head the ENTIRE time. All I could do was laugh! He's so funny.

That was about three weeks ago. But he's still obsessed with wearing it. He had it on tonight when I got home from work, just sitting at the table eating a snack with his helmet on. I'm so used to it that I don't even notice now. We had to run to the store to get a few things tonight and we get out of the car at the store and of course he still has his helmet on. I let him wear it in the store...it's WAY easier to just let him wear it then fight the battle of getting him to take it off. Plus who really cares right? Some day I'm sure he'll be like, "Seriously Mom you let me wear a bike helmet to the grocery store?" :-) hehehehe

Here's a few pics of him riding his bike. It's kinda funny when he rides it too. He has the training wheels on his bike of course and because we've got a gravel driveway he usually only gets a few feet before his training wheels are lower then his big back tire and he just starts spinning. Then you have to walk over and give him a little push cause he's 'stuck'. Again I think it's so funny when he's sitting there with his helmet on going, "Mom, come push me." :-)
