Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
Last weekend we really got into the Holiday spirit around the Ranch. Kim came over and we baked cookies. This year we did about 8 different kinds, which is nothing compared to what Kelly and her Mom and sister do. I think Dan said they did 18 different kinds this year...insane!! But they're always super good as were the ones we made this weekend.
The boys helped as much as they can at ages 2 and 1. Logan really liked pressing out the sugar cookies and I finally just gave up and gave Cody his own piece of cookie dough to play with. Logan was actually pretty good a frosting the cookies. And he didn't eat that much cookie dough or frosting!
Then Sunday morning we went and got our Christmas tree. We've got a Christmas Tree farm 2 miles from our house so we just decided to go there this year. We all got bundled up in our cold gear and headed out to the tree farm at 9 am. There was no one there when we got there so that was nice. We of course wanted to cut our own tree so we brought a sled with and loaded the boys in that and set out to find the perfect tree. Brian and I haven't actually paid for a Christmas tree yet...we usually get one off our land or get one from Dan and Betty...so needless to say we were a little shocked at the tree prices. But we got over that and found the perfect tree. Logan blessed it and said it was the right one so Brian cut it down and off we went back to the barn. Mom was pulling the boys in the sled and Dad was pulling the tree on the plastic sheet they give you, everyone having a great time...until...Mom didn't see the tree stump under the snow and accidentally tipped the sled over. Whoops...poor Cody went face first into a big pile of while fluffy snow. The poor kid was not happy...as any one would be if they were given a full-on snow wash in 9 degree weather. I felt horrible and Brian was not happy with me. Poor Cody wouldn't stop crying, so our nice family outing turned into a crying-fest. We switched it up and had Dad pull the boys in the sled as fas as he could back to the barn and Mom pulled the tree. We passed a family we knew at one point and they were giving Brian crap about making me pull the tree...hehe...
After getting home and getting Cody warmed up in a nice hot shower the snow wash was fast forgotten...at least by Cody...he still loves me! That night we decorated the tree and Logan really got into it...see for yourself...

Happy Thanksgiving
The Sherman's made the trek across the state this year for Thanksgiving. It was so great to see them!!! We went to my Mom and Dad's for Thanksgiving day. My Mom made a great meal! Thanks again Mom! She also planned ahead and got play-dough and color books/crayon's for the kids to play with after dinner. The kids had a blast and did really well!
Then Friday afternoon April Sherman, April Seiberlich and I took Logan and Layla to see Tangled. My Mom watched Cody; I knew he'd never be able to sit through the whole movie...I was worried about Logan sitting through the whole movie, let alone Cody. But the thing I didn't expect was as we were pulling out of my Mom's driveway Logan starts crying. He was very upset and when I asked him why he said, "Mom you forgot Cody. We need to go get Cody." When I stopped to think about it I realized that Logan and Cody don't do many things apart from each other. The poor kid thought we had left Cody behind. It was really sweet! The movie was really good and Logan did ok. It was in 3D and I didn't realize that. The glasses were too big for Logan and Layla so they didn't wear them, which wasn't a big deal. Logan did say about 20 min into the movie that he wanted to go home and get Cody. :-) He did ok after that...only had to go to the bathroom 3 times during the movie. I really really loved the movie though. Then afterward we went out for pizza. It was a really fun afternoon!
Saturday April and I got a chance to do some shopping in the morning and then Saturday night the 4 adults actually got to go out on the town...if you can say that about going to Sue's. :-) We just went to the bar for a few drinks and to listen to the band that was playing. It was a ton of fun and so good to get out just the 4 of us for a while.
The other interesting thing that happened that weekend didn't occur until Jake and April were leaving. Of course it's hunting season and Brian and Jake are cavemen at heart so they have a primal need to hunt things. Jake got a doe on Friday afternoon (Yeah Jake!!), and of course needed to take it back across the state with him to get it processed. Turns out him and Brian had a brain storm and decided to freeze the deer in the fetal position basically. They thought it would be funny to have the deer look as though it was just merely sleeping on top of the Envoy as they trekked it across the state. It was funny and sort of weird to see this deer laying on top of their car. See for yourself....
I guess they had a few people taking pictures of it as they made their way home. They also had one guy from Illinois cut them off and give them the figure...maybe he was with PETA...Oh our caveman husbands...we love you guys. :-)
Lastly a few shots of our cute littles...

First Snow Fall
So I know it's been literally almost a month since the first snow fall...but I suck at blogging remember? So I'm going to post pictures from that first snow fall anyway! :-)
So what do you do when you're snowed in at home? Build a fort out of the couches and blankets with your cousins of course!! Debbie, Mike and the kids just happened to be staying with us the night of the first snow fall. It was a blast watching the kids playing together.
Our fort we built.
Logan's little feet...
Stella hiding...
Stella and Logan sleeping. (And yes he's wearing his hat...he really likes to wear his hats in the house..and out of the house).
Winter Wonderland
Then the other night Brian found this in the bathroom.
Yes they are Post-it flags all over his legs. He really liked taking them out and sticking them on his legs. Too funny!
Well I know I've really been slacking on the blog and I apologize. I'm going to do a few more posts tonight which will come out later this week and try to get things organized so I can blog more often. Sorry! :-)

I SUCK!!
I SUCK!!
I'm so sorry that it's been so long since I've posted anything. Work is INSANE right now. I get to work and can't find time to pee let-alone upload pics and blog. I'll promise to try to get a new post out by Friday. I've got some pictures that are old now...but still worth posting I think....that is if any one is even still following this blog...I'm guessing not...

First Hunting Adventure
Logan went on his first official hunt this weekend. He went Pheasant hunting with Brian, Uncle Dan and Demo on Sunday. Brian let go of the Pheasants he's been raising all summer. Logan was ecstatic about it! They went out right around his nap time, but he wasn't the least bit tired. It was pretty cute!!
Then Sunday night we just hung out at home....dancing in our diapers....The house was 78 degrees on Sunday (gotta love the fire place!!!) so the boys were running around in their diapers. I just love watching them play and dance. Of course you'll notice in the video that Logan spends almost the entire time trying to knock Cody down with being obvious about it so he doesn't get yelled at. This kid really knows how to toe the line...almost getting close to needing to be disciplined without being obvious about it. Little stinker!!

Happy Halloween
Saturday we tried on our Winter gear before heading to Wally World to determine what we needed for supplies. Logan's pretty well set...other than a new hat...this one's kinda small...
Cody has a great jacket from Uncle Dan and Auntie Kelly...just needed the gloves and hat! Now all that's left for the boys is some Winter boots and we're ready for snow!! Even though Mom's not, the boys are! :-)
Then Saturday night I babysat for Stella and Weston. Mike and Deb had a Halloween party at a friends house. It was a ton of fun and Logan was so excited to be able to play with Stella. He's been asking to play with her for a long time! Those two are so funny together and didn't actually fight all that much. Only a few times was there screaming and tears! Cody and Weston...now that's another story. Cody kept grabbing Weston and hugging him...although his hug was more of a death squeeze followed by a take down...so needless to say Weston didn't like them too much.
Then Sunday Brian decided to make some wooden benches for our porch. Instead of having our over-flowing toy bins we've now got great looking cedar benches! For toys and hunting gear of course! ;-) It was too funny to watch Cody though. He wanted to help Daddy so much. For Mom it wasn't funny the first time he picked up the staple gun though. Luckily Brian said it didn't have any staples in it! Who knows if it actually did.
New Benches
Then Sunday night we did take the boys Trick-or-Treating. We only went to a few places though. Logan didn't really like it. He didn't say anything to the first house we went too and after the second house he said he was scared and wanted to go home. He's a little too young yet, so maybe next year. But they sure did look cute dressed up!! :-)

Weekend Adventures
This weekend was actually pretty low key for us. Just hanging out. April Seiberlich our nanny from this summer came over on Saturday to hang with us. The boys (and us too) really miss her, but schools going well for her and she's having a blast! We're super excited for her and wish her the best. We took the boys to Teddy Bear Park in Stillwater. It's a really cool park!!
Cody kept smashing his face into one of those playground bubbles. It was super funny...and super gross...I'm sure there's all kinds of germs and buggers and snot on those things.
We went to Target after the park and both boys wanted to get down and walk. Logan was so cute taking Cody's hand and leading him around the store.
The rest of Saturday was spent hanging out at home. The excitement didn't start until Brian got back in from bow hunting. He had shot a 10-pointer!! He came in right after he shot it and didn't go look for it immediately. I think partly because he wanted to let it sit for a while and not push it too much, but partly I think so that Logan could go with him to help track it. Logan was so excited that he got to go with and track the big buck!! After they had found it he came running into the house jumping up and down with excitement. Then he started re-enacting the tracking process; showing me how he looked for blood and screaming, "Blood" when he found some...which he actually did find some and Uncle Mike didn't believe him, but he did! It's going to be so great when he can actually go hunting with Daddy and kill the big buck himself! :-)
A couple weeks ago Brian got Logan the movie "Cars" on Bluray. I'm still trying to decide if it was a stroke of genius or not because now he asks to watch it all the time...but it does keep him entertained for quite a while so it allows Mom to get some work done around the house...the jury's still out... But it's so funny when he wants to watch it and we say no. He cocks his head to the side, gives us his saddest fast and go, "but it's my favorite movie". It's too cute!! And of course now he loves all this "Cars" gear, like PJs, and slippers and underwear, etc.
Then Sunday morning we carved pumpkins. Logan still didn't really want to stick his hand in the pumpkin to clean it out....Cody on the other hand dug right in! :-)
And last but not least, Sunday night Sherri treated Logan to Mickey's Magic show at the Excel Energy Center! Logan was pretty excited about it! He kept asking, "Where's Mickey". Thanks Auntie Sherri!! We love you!
