Baby Sis

I'm long over due for a blog post announcing Baby Sis' birth.  I promise I will get a post out in the next couple of days detailing her birth and how things went.  But for now a few links to Kelsea Fehlen's blog with Brielle's newborn pictures.  The images are so great; there's almost no words to describe how much they mean to mean and how great I think they are.  Kelsea is amazing and I'm so thankful that we've met and become friends.

Here's a link to all the newborn pictures.

Here's a link to a blog post with just one picture.

OK, That's it for today (Thank you April for motivating me to post on here again), I'll try to get another post out soon.  :-)

Simplee

I cannot get enough of these photos.  I've looked at them about 47938 and am in LOVE with each and every one!

As I told Kelsea, she captured the Life, Love and Spirit of my family in these images.  And I cannot wait for her to photograph Baby Sis when she arrives.

Thank you Kelsea from the bottom of my heart.

Little Sis's Name and Nursery Revealed

I finally finished the Nursery last night, with the help of my amazing husband!!  Who has been so patient and kind lately dealing with a very pregnant, hot and uncomfortable woman.  I love you and can't thank you enough!!

We did also decided on a name for Little Sis.  I know this name was not one of the most popular ones on the Blog, but it's the one Brian and I both voted for, and well at the end of the day we're the ones that get to decide.  :-)  I really appreciate all the votes and comments though.  It was fun to see which names people liked.  The 'winner' however is, Brielle Marie Meyer.  The anticipation is mounting for her arrival.

Here are the pics of the nursery.  I'm really happy with how it turned out.  It's a 'little' over the top, and I'm not going to lie I got a little carried away, but it was SO fun!

I bought these letters and painted them the same colors as the ones on the wall.  Then added the ribbon to hang them.

You can kind of see the 'mobile' pieces in this picture.  They were just wooden circles, then I bought some ribbon and wrapped it around the circles.  Then tied them together with some string.  Super, super easy and adds a little bit to the room.  Hopefully they don't fall on her in the middle of the night.  ;-)

You can see the little heart above the light switch.  That was Logan's idea.  When I was telling him about what we were going to be doing in Baby Sis' room, he said, "Mom I want to do a little heart for her, cause we love her."  How could I say no to that?  So we added a big heart with a little green heart next to it.

This girl already has more clothes than both of the boys combined.  These are just the Newborn and 0-3 month clothes.  The dresser is full of clothes from 3 months to 24 months.  She's going to be so spoiled!

This 'Heaven Sent' took me a while to do.  It looks 'OK' from afar, but up close you can see that the paint sort of seeped at the edges a little.  I was going to redo it, but Brian said to leave it, that it looked cool.  So I left it for now...the jury is still out on how long I'll be able to leave it alone before I get annoyed and want to redo it.

I feel so much better now that her room is done.  Not that she'll be sleeping in it right away; she'll be in our room for a month or more.  But it feels good to get that checked off the list.

5 more weeks, 5 more LONG and HOT weeks.  That is if she doesn't just melt right out of me before that...here's hoping!  :-)

Also here's a few pictures of one of the finishing touches I added to the boys room.  Logan helped me paint the letters and Brian cut down the branches and helped me nail the letters onto them.  The whole family got involved in adding a little 'extra' to the boys room.  They were pretty excited when we finally hung them up over their beds.

Much overdue trip across the state

Two weekends ago, (see I'm getting better, it's only been a week since these pictures were taken) we made the long, and much overdue, trip across the state to see Jake, April, Layla and to meet Baby Maya.  The boys did 'OK' in the car.  They only fought about 4 times and we only heard, "Are we there yet" about 12 times.  I'm sure things are going to get worse before they get better, with this drive, but it's totally worth it.  The boys were so excited for this trip they didn't even fall asleep on the way there.

Not only did we get to meet Baby Maya for the first time, but we got to stay at the new Sherman place.  The new place is AWESOME!  So great with a very beautiful view and a big yard for the kids.  They've been there a little over a month and had already put in the garden! They got their garden in before Brian and I got the ranch garden in.  I think the country life really suits them! :-)

Here are a few pics from the weekend.  It was blast!  Thanks again Sherman's!  Can't wait to do it again!  And it better be before 7 months!

They wanted a picture where all three of them had the Popsicle in their mouths at the same time...goof balls!

I think the hit of the weekend was riding bikes and the wiggle racer down the drive way.  They've got a bit of a hill on their driveway and the boys (yes all the boys) had a blast riding the bikes and wiggle racer down the driveway.

Beautiful Layla.  I'm insanely jealous of her hair.

Friday night Brian and Jake put in a fire pit so we could have a bonfire.  The kids 'helped' as well.

Layla was showing me some of her awesome twits and jumps.  It was really fun, and after each picture she'd have to see it, then say, 'watch this one'.  :-)

Racing back and forth from the tree.

Baby Maya out like a light.  She is so adorable.  I couldn't stop kissing her checks...they're just so kissable!!

Then Saturday we played in the sun.  The kids played in the water and played musical hot potato on the deck.  As you can see the kids were having a blast!

See!  How can you resist just gobbling her up?  So ADORABLE!

Saturday night the Sherman's had a bit of a party.  The Roemer's and Gritt's came over.  Also April's Mom and Dad stopped by.  It was a ton of fun and the kids we on cloud nine.  Jenny made dinner for everyone.  It was awesome!  I think all the kids had second helpings!  Thanks Jenny!

Logan LOVED Baby Maya.  He asked to hold her about 30 times that weekend and wanted to help feed her and change her diaper.  He's going to be a huge helper when Little Sis gets here.  Oh and side note: Yes he does have tape on his glasses.  They broke about 30 mins after we got to the Sherman's house.  Good ole electrical tape does wonders!  :-)

The boys were devastated when we had to leave.  They had such a blast!  They talked about how much they missed Layla for about a week straight.  They still ask if we can go back to Layla's house.  :-) It's so cute to see them miss each other so much...kinda like the adults.  :-) Thanks again Sherman's!  We miss you already and can't wait to see you again!

Baby Girl Name

Brian and I haven't fully decided on a Baby Girl Name yet.  Most of you know that for a LONG time, I was dead set on Brianna if we had a girl.  However, now that we're having a girl, I'm not completely sure.  So I figured why not put it to the blog poll again and see which name 'wins' out.  I can't guarantee that we'll go with the name that gets the most votes, but it will be fun to see which names everyone likes.

Just a note, we're for sure going with 'Marie' as the middle name.  So make sure the name sounds good with Marie Meyer as the middle/last name.

Little Sis' Real Name should be?

Dirt Baths

Dirt.  With two little boys; the sooner you come to terms with it the better off your life will become.  That's especially true with these two little boys.  A couple of weeks ago we went to Brian's softball game.  Logan and Cody played on the playground for about 15 mins, but than soon discovered the dirt in the dugout and the rest was history.  They spent the entire time filling up empty gator-aide bottles and dumping the dirt on themselves.  They told me they were giving themselves 'dirt baths'.  Hey, I guess it's a good skin exfoliate...and it kept them in one place the entire time.  ;-)

Washing the legs during the 'dirt bath'

Can't forget the face.
