Trip to visit the Sherman's

Last weekend we made the long trip across the state to see Brian and visit our friends, Jake, April and Layla Sherman. It was a long trip, but totally worth it. Every time we get together with the Sherman's a GREAT time is had by all and no one wants to leave at the end. We always try to make time for Mom's to hang out together without the babies as well as time for Dad's to hang out together without the babies and of course time for Mom's, Dad's and babies to hang out together. The kids are really getting to the stage where they can actually play together and it's so cute/fun to watch! Although we do usually get to the end of the vacation and the kids are so tired they don't know why their crying they just are and the parents are crossed-eye their so tired from staying up late catching up and then getting up early with babe's that don't sleep super great with all the excitement...but even with all that we wouldn't trade our time with them for anything and always wish we could stay longer and visit more often! We miss you guys already and can't wait until the next time we can get together. Here's a few pictures:

On Saturday night while we were there we went to Jenny and Paul's (Jake and April's old neighbors house) and it was a BLAST!! Jenny and Paul are so great! They have 4 kids, Peyton who's 6, Ryan who's 5 and Clay and Aly who are 4 month old twins. Logan thought Ryan was the coolest kid ever!! The two of them hit it off right away and were soon seen playing with toy guns and binoculars hunting bear and deer in the yard. It was so fun to watch!

While we were at Jenny and Paul's the kids played in the pool and with the slip-n-slide as well.

At the end of the night Jenny's sister Brenda came over as well with her son Roman who's like 2 weeks younger than Logan. It was just so great hanging out with everyone. There were kids running around like crazy, catching fire-flies and playing in the yard, adults sitting around laughing and enjoying the company and everyone was totally comfortable and relaxed. It just felt so easy and right like we had all been friends for years and it was just typical Saturday night. Thanks Roemer's and Sherman's for being great people! We can't wait until next time!!

Videos for Daddy

Cody climbed up on this diaper box all by himself last night. He thought he was pretty cool! I'm totally fine with it as long as when he falls off he doesn't cry...or get hurt...which he didn't because of course he did fall of... :-)

Ranch Hands

Monday Nicole and Frank Welsch came over to help on the Ranch. Unfortunately there wasn't too much to do since Brian had shown me how to do everything the day before, but we still found a few chores to do. We fed the sheep and pheasants and planted some pumpkins, weeded the garden a little bit and watered my flowers.

It was so great to see Frank and Nicole. Nicole thank you so much! You and I are literally two peas-in-a-pod and I'm so glad that our lives crosses paths and we became friends. You always know how to cheer me up and make me laugh! Plus you're just dead sexy in your farmer overalls!! :-)

A few pictures of the boys. Brian's aunt gave us a hamper with some bears painted on it and she must not have realized that her son Eric's pjs were still inside. Logan LOVED them though, since he's on a pj kick in general right now and always wants to wear his pajamas's all day long. The funny thing is Erc's like 8 or something so the pjs were size 6/7. Logan put them on right over his shorts and shirt and was running around like crazy! Nevermind the fact that it was 80-something outside and they were heavy winter jammies... :-)

Photobucket

MOM! These jammies are the BOMB! Look how fast they make me run!
Photobucket

HAHAHA! Logan you look ridiculous! HAHAHAH!
Photobucket

Mom stop taking pictures of me while I'm eating...seriously!
Photobucket

Yeah Mom we're eating our hotdogs...leave us alone!
Photobucket

We will defeat you if you don't stop it!
Photobucket

OK I'm done with my hotdog, but I'm annoyed with you so I won't smile...take that Mom.
Photobucket

Mom I can't wait until I can help dump the corn into the sheep feeder. I like my wagon, but feeding the sheep seems like more fun.
Photobucket

Baby of Steel! Cody loves to crawl around outside. He always wants to get down and play in the sand, in the mud, and even in the gravel on the driveway. He'll crawl right over the gravel without even flinching. He loves to play with the gravel in his hands and of course put the rocks in his mouth... :-)

Father's Day

Photobucket

The strawberries have been AWESOME this year!! We've gotten so many strawberries from our patch since we moved it down by the pasture! Logan LOVES them and goes over to the plants and picks them himself and eats them. He even gets a ripe one every now and then...most the time he gets a white one that's just not quite ready and ends up spitting it out. The rest of the garden is coming along great and I can't wait until this fall when we've got fresh veggies for every meal!

Friday Logan was running down from the house to the shed and tripped in the gravel driveway and fell. This is I'm sure the first of many many many accidents that will happen at the Ranch. He did scrap his knee and hand up pretty good though. Here's a picture after we got him all bandaged up. He just looks sad. He was running back to the house to get his steering-wheel which you can sort of see in the picture.

Saturday we went over to Mikey and Debbie's cabin for an early Father's Day celebration. It was a ton of fun and really good to see everyone! I took a bunch of pictures of the cabin now that Mikey's finished remodeling it. I'm going to wait to try to fine my 'before' pictures so that you can see side-by-side the progress. It's AMAZING! Mike did such a fantastic job! The cabin is beautiful! Great work Mikey!

Here's a few pictures of the party though and a short video of Logan and Stella playing together.

Mikey and Debbie have HUGE bull frogs at their place. It's kinda cool and Brian really wants to catch some of their tad-poles and transport them to the Ranch. We'll see how he does with that...although I know the boys would probably love to catch them later.
Photobucket

Photobucket

Double Trouble!! Logan was SO excited to see Stella on Saturday. He kept asking all day, "Go Stella's house?" They actually play really well together...although of course they are 2 so there's always the occasional fight...as you can see via the video below.

For the next two weeks at least I'll be a much more diligent blogger...I've got pictures of Logan and Cody from tonight I'll post tomorrow and some super cute videos.

Oh yay, Happy Father's Day Daddy! We love you and can't imagine a better Daddy! You are my hero already and I can't wait until I'm old enough for you to teach me everything you know. Love Logan and Cody!!

Good night!

"Thanks"

In corporate America we send and receive a LOT of e-mails...e-mails about everything under the sun and my favorite is when you send someone an e-mail and they respond back with one word, "Thanks." Really? I mean I appreciate the effort of letting me know that you're appreciative of what I told you or am going to do for you, but you just filled my inbox with another e-mail with only one word in it. Anyway...this mini rant is all pre-courser for telling you about my friend Joe. I always enjoy getting Joe's e-mail cause he always includes something hilarious in them. Whether it's a link to a youtube video, a top ten list of some kind, or some other comedic sentence or two, it's always hilarious and never boring receiving e-mails from Joe! Oh and he almost never sends the obligatory, "Thanks" e-mail. :-) Here's the youtube video link I received from him this morning. I was crying I was laughing so hard. I'll try to post other hilarious video's I get from Joe. Enjoy!

iPad

At work we're developing an application for the iPhone and IPad...so of course we had to get an iPad to test the application with! So this post is from the iPad! I'm not a fan of how you type with the touch screen I'm a lot slower at it and therefore this will be a shorter post than normal, although I haven't been posting much so what is normal right?

Things have been pretty mellow around the ranch lately just working and gardening and building the play center. Our strawberries are ready so we've been eating a ton of them lately.

Ok gotta run cause Logan is wrestling with Cody and I need to protect Logan from getting hurt. ;)

Standing...but no proof...yet

As I said in the last post Cody is standing more and more these days...I spent about an hour after work one night chasing him around with a camera to get it on video with no success. I did get a bunch of cute little videos of the boys though so I'll post those along with some updated pictures of the club house.

OK...I have no idea if this is socially acceptable or not, but it's what happens on the Ranch and to be honest I'm not sure what to do about it. Lately Logan has been "boom booming" things with the Wii shotgun I got for Brian. He knows not to "boom boom" people and the dogs, but likes to "boom boom" the sheep as well as the deer and duck mounts on the porch...again...no idea if it's sociably acceptable for a two year old to walk around with a toy shotgun and pretend to kill things...I'm going to guess it's probably not, but Logan also doesn't understand what "boom boom" actually means either. Yes that is my attempt to rationalize what my son is doing...I'll blame his father...that's obviously where he has learned this behavior... :-)

These next couple of videos are of the boys playing in their club house. In the first one you can hear Logan yelling at Tank to get out. I wonder where he learned that from? :-)

This one is the closest I got to a video of Cody standing. He does it for about 2.45 seconds in this video and I swear he's done it WAY longer than that before. Of course Logan shoving him out of the way in this video doesn't help either...

A few pictures of the Clubhouse progress. The spiral slide is on and the rock wall is built we just don't have the rocks to put on it yet. Also Brian was working on the inside, putting the sub-floor down and building the counter top and cabinets. I warned you this clubhouse would be way way over the top! The counter top and cabinets are not complete, they're just sitting on the floor. Brian didn't get a chance to finish them on Sunday.

LLC

Well it's official! Meyer Ranch and Property Maintenance LLC. We filed the paperwork and paid the money to make Meyer Ranch an official Limited Liability Company. Brian was pretty excited to get all this figured out. We're still working on the logo for the company, but the work is in full swing. Brian had his last day of school last Thursday and in true BMeyer fashion took no time off and started his first Meyer Ranch job of the summer bright and early Friday morning at 7. Maybe I'll get him to take some time off towards the end of the summer for a family vacation...we'll see though...

Sorry no pictures today. There has been considerable progress on the club house though. The spiral slide is up and Brian has the windows in and the porch boards in. He was working on the cabinets and counter-tops yesterday. I'll try to grab some pictures tonight and post them later in the week. This week is jam packed again for the Meyer's.

This weekend my parents took the boys on Saturday and Saturday night. Logan was pretty excited about it! He loves hanging out with Grandpa and Grandma. My parents took them to Como Zoo on Saturday. Of course it had to rain the entire time they were there. I felt really bad, but they still had a great time! And Cody even got to go on his first Merry-Go-Round ride. Thanks so much Mom and Dad for watching the boys! We love you!

Let's see an update on the boys...

Logan is TOTALLY into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He asks to watch it about 3948 times a day. He's so cute when he's watching it cause he'll respond when they ask him too and he loves to do the Hotdog Dance. I asked him if he wanted hotdogs for lunch yesterday and he immediately went into the Hotdog Dance. Too funny!! Logan's really turning into a little man. He LOVES helping Daddy with the play center and thinks it's pretty cool that he has his own set of tools...although he still tries to steal Daddy's tools when he's not looking. He had the tape measure the other day and I asked him, "What do you have Logan?" He said, "Tape measure. I'm measuring Momma." I said really, how tall am I? So he measured me and said, "You're 9." I just laughed...not sure if that was 9 inches or 9 feet, but I don't like either one.

Cody Mouse is just growing like a weed! He's getting so good at pulling himself up and he'll hold on to things now with only one hand and when he gets excited he'll even let go of whatever he's holding on to for a little bit. I really don't think it's going to be long now and he'll be walking. When he's crawling around he'll sometimes even try to stand up all by himself. He's getting his 4th tooth though so there's been a few rough nights the last week or so. But it's all part of the game isn't it? He still thinks Logan can walk on water and every where Logan is Cody wants to be. It's so great to watch them play/wrestle together already. And Logan's already mastered the game of blaming things on Cody. "Logan did you poop?" "No Cody did." hehe...it's only the beginning I'm sure.

OK, well I better get to work. I'll try to post some pictures later in the week!

Meyer Ranch Clubhouse

Construction has started on the Meyer Ranch clubhouse. As a warning for those of you that don't know my husband, he doesn't do any thing halfway or half-ass...so this clubhouse is of course spectacular! Brian will admit it's a little bigger then he had originally envisioned, but construction has commenced so it's staying this size.

My Dad and Brian began construction on Saturday and made quite a bit of progress. It's far from being complete, but the slide works and the swings work and the house is of course super fun to play in!

Pre-construction
Photobucket

Daddy's little helper. Logan was in HEAVEN this weekend. He loved being there helping Daddy and Grandpa building stuff. He did good and didn't get in the way too much. He would, of course, take their tools and lose them, but what's the fun of building something if all your tools are right where you left them?

Yes their club house is big enough to fit 7 grown adults comfortably...and we could probably fit way more than 7 in there.
Photobucket

My job was to put together the spiral slide. So of course I called for re-enforcements! Kim, Keri, and I (with the help of Dan a little bit) put the spiral slide together. It really wasn't that hard...although there was a lot of bolts! Over 347 I think.

Photobucket

This is the finish product...so far...Still a lot of work to do, but like I said the swings work and the slide works and the sand box is full! Yes it does have working windows and it will have two working doors...it's also getting electricity and porch lights, siding, shingles and maybe even a little flower pot under the window... ;-)

One of my favorite songs right now is Laura Bell Bundy's song "Giddy On Up". Every time it comes on CMT I crank it up and dance with the boys. So when it came on the radio this weekend Logan of course began bustin' out his moves to the song and sang along. If you can't understand him he's saying, "Giddy On Up, Giddy On Up".

Logan testing out the new slide. I think this clubhouse is already a HUGE success!

Both the boys testing out the swings. Cody LOVES the swing and could swing for hours!

I'll keep you posted with updates on the clubhouse as Brian continues to make progress this summer.
