5K and Easter Egg Hunt

Last Saturday was the 5th annual Healthy Heart 5K. Brian and I did this 5K the first year they held it. We missed a few years in the middle due to having cute little babies and last year I made Sherri and Angie run it with me. But this year I made Brian run it with me instead. My Mom and Dad also ran with us. It was a family event! Brian's been trying to get into shape for our up-coming vacation and I think he figured doing this 5K would motivate him to actually train for it...but that didn't exactly happen. He got sick a couple weeks before the race and has been sick ever since. We went for a family run one night and he thought he was to die. So what do you think I do, the caring loving wife that I am? Nurse him back to health and baby him? No way in hell...I gave him shit every day telling him that I was going to beat him in the race. "Babe, I can't believe you're actually going to lose to me in a foot race...I mean come on!". "You better not run on Saturday, how embarrassed your going to be when a girl beats you!"

Well of course he ran the race and of course he beat me. But I knew he would. He'd NEVER let me beat him in a foot race. He has a hard time when I beat him in bowling...the only sport I stand a fighting chance against him. But I don't really care. I was only 30 sec behind him and he pushed me to run the fastest 5K I've ever ran. He got 8th of the men and I got 7th of the women. I was totally pumped! I'm so proud of my Dad too! He ran it in 28 min! Way to go old man! My mom did awesome too...I think she could have ran it faster if she didn't have an extra 30 pounds of clothes on. :-) She's a freeze baby, so she had an extra three layers on since it was snowing while we were running...boo!!

Special thanks to Kim for watching the boys while we ran and bringing them down to the school afterward.

After the 5K there was an Easter Egg Hunt at one of the local churches. It was suppose to be outside, but due to the snow they had to move it inside...who would have thought snow on April 16th? The boys didn't really care if it was inside or outside (although Logan did say later in the day, "Mom, all the snow melted! It's summer out now! We can go hunt Easter eggs outside now!") they still had a blast. It was a rather quick hunt, but still fun!

On their way to the room with all the eggs...

Logan running to get the eggs in the window. He had been looking at them the whole time, just wanting to pick them up.

Logan figured out real quick that you could open them and that their was candy inside. Then he'd open every egg and try to shove the candy in his pockets. He didn't want anyone getting his candy!

Then I need to say a HUGE thank you to my parents!! They changed their plans Saturday night to watch the boys for us so we could go to Peter's senior play. Thank you so much!! You're so wonderful and I'm so blessed to have you as my parents! The boys LOVE you and love spending time with you!!

One Hell of a Ride!

Tonight my heart literally stopped beating...I'll start from the beginning....

Every night when we get home now Logan and Cody just beg and beg to go outside and drive the race-car (Logan) and ride the 4-wheeler (Cody). So tonight was no different. Brian had to do some things in the field so he took Cody with him on the tractor. Logan and I were hanging out at the clubhouse; he was driving his race-car around. He pulls up next to me and asks for some milk, so I say,
"Drive your race-car up to the house and we'll get you some milk. Then Mom's going to start supper."
He drives his race-car up to the house and we go in and grab some milk. I hand him the milk and say,
"I'm going to start supper. Be careful driving your race-car around."
So I'm making supper and literally 5 min later I hear a crash. I'm thinking to myself, "Huh...I hope that wasn't Logan going over the retaining wall with his race-car!" So I look out the window and sure as shit there's Logan's race-car upside down on the concrete at the bottom of the 5 ft retaining wall. My heart literally stopped beating and I bolted out the door just completely freaking out, thinking I'd find Logan bloody and mangled.

By the time I got outside, Logan was walking towards me crying, "Mom my race-car!". I grab him and start looking him over going, "Are you ok? Where are you hurt?" trying to find the broken bones I'm sure are just shattered. He's looking at me with a confused look going, "My race-car's broken. I broke my race-car!" The poor kid was upset that he broke his race-car and didn't even have a scratch on him! Not a single scratch or swelling or red mark to be found. Thank the Good Lord! But seriously?!?! Only BMeyer's child could drive his race-car off a 5 ft retaining wall and walk away complete unscratched. I think the whole thing did really scare him though. After I had turned the car over and put the battery back in, I told him to drive it again to see if it worked. He wouldn't get in it. The car is totally fine too, works like a champ still, but Logan won't drive it. I asked him why and he said, "'cause I don't want to go off the retaining wall again." :-) I'm not sure how long this trauma will last for him...I'm guessing not very long...but for the time being he's afraid to drive his race-car.

Below is a picture I took of Brian at his 30th Birthday party. He's leaning against the said retaining wall. This is the exact spot that Logan took his flying leap.

Holy Crap these boys are literally going to kill me...I think I took years off my life tonight. I just couldn't stop shaking afterward and I keep giggling too. I think I was just so happy that he was ok and sort of in shock that he was totally and completely fine...I just couldn't believe it...

Super Heros

My Sister sent me this cute video of the boys at Logan's birthday party. Logan's in full super hero mode! :-)

I do have to admit I can't get any good pictures of the boys in their super hero gear...but Becky sure did!!! I just LOVE these pictures!!! You can really see Logan's cross eye in some of these. The mask irritates his glasses so he takes them off while wearing his mask..."Super Heros don't wear glasses Mom." -Logan

This picture is my favorite picture of the boys so far...

Spring is finally here!

YEAH!!! Spring is finally here! It was SO nice to get outside tonight and let the boys play on the play center and run off some energy...speaking of running off some energy, we took our first family run tonight. Brian and I signed up for the Health Heart 5K with my parents on April 16th, so tonight we took the boys for a run outside! It was fun...well except the part about pushing the boys up a pretty steep hill...that kinda sucked. They both weigh about 30 pounds now..so pushing an extra 60 pounds while running definitely changes your pace and breathing. :-)

I've been trying to get some good pictures of 'Super Logan' but for some reason the boy has developed this phobia of the camera and WILL NOT let me get a good picture of him. He likes taking pictures of other people and loves to take my camera now and take pictures of me...most of those pictures will never be shown on this blog...fyi. But getting a picture of Logan is near impossible these days.

I don't really have much else to add...last weekend we did girls night which was a TON of fun! It was so good to see some of the girls that I haven't seen in a year or more. Plus I desperately needed a Pedicure so that was nice!

This weekend is painting Becky's house for Peter's graduation party. I'm hoping we can get most of it done on Saturday because it's suppose to be 70 degrees on Sat. and Sun...although there's a chance of rain too. But who cares right? Maybe we'll get out and try the boys rain boots and let them stomp around in the mud puddles. Logan's been asking for a few days to, "go to the petting zoo and have a picnic". I would LOVE to do that with him and can't wait until we can! I just need to figure out when that will happen. Maybe we'll get one or the other in this weekend...

OK Brian's sleeping on the couch and has been for about 2 hours now. This has become a regular occurrence at the Meyer Ranch...Tee working while we watch the nightly news or a little Trailer Park Boys and Brian falling asleep on the couch...then Tee waking him up to go to bed about 10:30 or 11. :-)

Happy Friday everyone! I'll try to get pictures on the blog from this weekend...even if they are of Logan running and hiding! :-)
