Spoiled Rotten

Logan and Cody are officially spoiled rotten! Brian brought home this tractor from Great Uncle Gary this weekend and needless to say Logan LOVES it! We had our first official temper-tantrum when Brian told him it was time to come in the house. Logan bent over at the waist, balled up his fists, threw his arms back and screamed, "NO DADDY, RIDE TRACTOR" with dime size tear drops rolling down his face. Man how cool would it have been to have something like this as a kid!? Spoiled spoiled...

2nd Birthday Party

Here's some pictures of Logan's 2nd Birthday Party! The party was a huge success and a ton of fun! Thanks everyone for coming and helping to celebrate the life of my little Logie Bear!

Logan helping Mom make his cake

Mom putting the finishing touches on the cake

Hurry Hurry Fire Truck. Yes if you look closely it is pink. I used the ENTIRE bottle of red food coloring and it still came out pink. Sorry little man for giving you a pink fire truck cake...if I would have known I would have at least made it yellow....live and learn I guess.

The porch all decorate. If you look closely you'll see we have new carpet out there. Brian did a fantastic job of getting the new carpet in in time for the party. He started on Wednesday night!

Birthday Boy and Mom. He was sleeping when the party started and was therefore a little graggy at first.

Gift opening!

He got this cool Cars chair from Grandpa and Grandma Steffen

He LOVES sunglasses and Auntie Sherri got him two pairs and Layla Sherman gave him three pairs! The kid is in Heaven and makes me wear them with him.

How cool am I!

Chillaxin' in the chair

Ironman! Bob and Carey gave him a cool Ironman card that came with a mask. He really likes it and was wearing it around all last night. The only down side of it is he'll run up to Cody and about 2 inches from his face go "RRROOOOARRRR" and Cody doesn't really like that. Big Meanie!

Cody and Weston playing together in the ball pit

So stinkin' cute!!

Grandma Meyer gave Logan these mats for this birthday. They're very cool and he can play with his cars on them (which it's a good thing Connor gave him some match box cars for his birthday cause we didn't have any!)

Happy Birthday to you! Logan LOVED when we sang to him and thought it was the coolest thing! He walks around the house singing "Hap Birthday to you, Hap Birthday to you" It's so cute! Although Julie said yesterday he cried when they sang to him (they had a little party for him at daycare). We must be way better singers then they are. ;-)

Ok, this picture needs a little explaining...Tracie and Jeremy came to the party which was awesome since we hadn't seen them in a while and Jeremy hadn't been to the house since we were putting up the sheetrock. Jeremy helped Brian do all the electrical work at the Ranch so Brian was giving Jeremy a tour of the Ranch and of course Mom picked that time to sing happy birthday...whhoooops! So right as we got done singing I realized that Brian wasn't there and quickly covered Logan's mouth so that he wouldn't blow out the candles without his Dad there. Luckily Brian was on his way up the basement stairs and got there 2 seconds after we got done singing! So sorry babe! Will someone please remind me next year to make sure Brian's around for the signing of happy birthday!

Make a wish!

Here's a great picture of Logan showing us how old he is. TWO!!

I heard ya

Due to popular demand there will no longer be music playing automatically on this site.

:-)

Auntie Christie's Gift!

A short video for Auntie Christie of Logan opening her gift. Note she did not wrap it in newspaper, that was all me. She asked me to wrap it and I just couldn't justify wrapping in actual wrapping paper for the 3.8 seconds it would take for Logan to rip it off.

Thank you so much Auntie Christie!!

I also want to note that Logan touched the vacuum cleaner this weekend! That's right he actually touched it! Not while it was running, but he did touch it and was able to be in the same room as the vacuum while it was running! Major advances!!

Hair Cuts (Part II)

As I mentioned in the Hair Cuts post last month I did not miss Cody's first REAL hair cut with Jody. I took the boys in last Wednesday to get their hair cut before family pictures last Friday (I've got a post started with some sample family pictures coming soon). Logan did great, he's so used to the clippers and just sits there the whole time...mainly I think because he knows that he gets a sucker at the end and remember he lives for suckers right now! Cody on the other hand was a little leary of the clippers and kept trying to turn to see what the heck was going on. He did cry a little, but nothing major and he looked so handsome afterward!! Here are a few pictures.

Logan just chillaxin'

You can sort of tell here he's telling us how old he is. He can't quite master the pointer and middle finger 2 symbol so he does the pointer and thumb instead.

Cody before his hair cut.

Cody during his hair cut...note the big tear under his right eye...poor guy...

Cody after his hair cut! Cutie!!

Him and Jody made up! Cody loves her! Thanks Jody for a great night!

And finally some pics of the boys enjoying their suckers! Even Cody got one...see he's trying to eat the whole thing at once...

Coming as well...Logan's 2nd Birthday Party Pictures! Stay tuned!

Happy 2nd Birthday Logan!

My little Logie Bear you're now two years old and it completely blows my mind how fast the last two years have gone by. I know I'll say this every year on your birthday (as well as Cody's) but it does truly amaze me how quickly you grow and change.

You're still wearing 18 month clothes; although most days it does look like you're waiting for a flood. You love your "flashy shirt" (the shirts Grandma Meyer gave you that light up) and hate wearing sweatshirts. You love wearing things on your head though and usually have some sort of hat on even if it's a bucket or pillow or dish of some sort. You're 100% boy. You LOVE the 4-wheeler rides and tractor rides Daddy takes you on; you're constantly trying to figure out how things work or how to take them apart. You only have to watch your Dad or I do something once and you're already trying to imitate what we've done. You don't care in the least if your dirty and the other day you were giggling with delight when you found the mud puddle at the end of the driveway. You LOVE being outside and will push your lawnmower up and down the driveway just talking to yourself for hours.

We've been struggling the last few months to get you to eat at home. You eat great at daycare, but it's a constant challenge to get you to eat your dinner at home. You are always asking, "Milk Please Mom", "Juice Please Mom", "Wawa Please Mom". You'd much rather drink yourself full rather than eat. Although you love your noodles and would eat Mac 'N Cheese every night for dinner if your father and I would let you.

I love that when you're playing, you'll throw your bag over your shoulder, walk out of the room and shut the door saying, "Bye Mom. See you later", leaving on some adventure known only to you. I can already see signs that you may have an annal side to you. The other day you came downstairs with a bag full of balls, but not just any balls, only the yellow balls from your ball bin. When you play with the Wii controllers you line them up and have to have them all touching, facing the same way with the wrist straps laid out just perfect. Playing with your blocks is the same way; only the red blocks can go together and when Mom tries to give you a blue block for your stack you get upset and say, "No Thank You Mommy" in your mad voice.

Speaking of your voice, it's one of the most angelic sounds I've ever heard...well when you're not screaming or telling me no...and even then you say "Nope" in such a cute little high pitched voice it makes me smile just thinking about it. I love that you're starting to talk more, expanding into actual stories now. It's still a bit of a puzzle to actually interpret what you're saying some times, but it's fun and Mom's learning more and more every day how to speak Loganese.

You are Cody's hero...even though you've knocked him over so many times and tried to squeeze him until his head pops off. Even still he always lights up when you walk into the room. When you're playing, you'll randomly stop and give Cody a kiss and it just melts my heart that you love him so much. I find myself stopping some times just too look at you and try to savor every min of you being this age. Sure you're stubborn at times, but most the time it's so amazing to watch you discover the world around you. I love being able to relearn things with you and find excitement in the ordinary every day things such as a passing airplane or cows in the field. You've taught your father and I so much, not the least is how to love someone so unconditionally. I pray every day that we're teaching you how to respect the people and things around you as well as how to work hard for what you want in life.

Your father and I love you so much little Bear! Happy Birthday!

Cody Talking

Here's a few short video's of Cody talking. One day he woke up and just started talking like this. It's so cute and of course it's the typical baby talk...he only does it with something in his mouth! :)

First 4-Wheeler Ride

Last week when it was nice out, we took Cody for his first 4-wheeler ride. You can tell he was excited about it...

I think he really did enjoy it...although he fell asleep almost right away so I'm not really sure.

My super husband! Hi Handsome!

Strapped in and ready to go. He looks really enthused huh?

I know Logan was excited though! He lives for 4-wheeler rides!

Daddy strapping Cody down.

So we get back from the 4-wheeler ride right, and Brian gets off, goes around to the front of the 4-wheeler and begins to un-strap the car seat. Oh, I forgot to mention that he did NOT turn the 4-wheeler off...so of course what does Logan do? Yup pushes the throttle down and jumps the 4-wheeler forward by a foot. Brian luckily dodged off to the side and grabbed the brake right away or Logan would have been taking Cody for a wild ride around the pasture. I couldn't help but start laughing and of course this caused Logan to laugh and think it was funny instead of incredible dangerous...I guess...life on the Ranch right? After all this, I was going through the pictures I had taken of the adventure and saw the one below. I took this picture before we even left on the ride (and the 4-wheeler was off at this point), but look where Logan's hand is? On the throttle! hehe, we should have seen it coming...

Enjoying a spring 4-wheeler ride. Note: I had my own 4-wheeler...or rather Mikey's 4-wheeler so no we didn't jam the whole family on one.

Picture of the lead dog: Ruger.

Cody's hair-do after the 4-wheeler adventure. I'm sure my hair would look like that too if Logan was driving! :-)
