Logan's Appt

Logan's appointment went great today. He weights 8 lbs 1 oz already so he's already surpassed his birth weight. Only 20 inches long though. His eye goober the doctor said could be the tear duct and we're just suppose to keep an eye on it. The doctor took his umbilical cord off for us too so we don't have to worry about that any more either and now Logan can take an actual bath! Logan did really good the entire time the doctor was checking him out. He just laid there and looked around the office. The doctor said afterwards that we're really lucky cause normally a week old baby isn't that alert and looking around. He said we've got a smart baby on our hands! Well duh! Of course he's smart...look at this parents! I just love that he looks around, it's so cute when I talk to him and he just looks at me. The video from yesterday shows this a little bit. And Jody that video is proof that he doesn't just sleep all the time. :-)

Ok, that's if for now. I'll try to take some video of him waking up...he's got the best faces when he's waking up.

Videos

Mom (with the help of Dad) figured out the video capture. So here are some videos of Logan. Nothing to dramatic, just some of him sleeping and some of him awake.

Yesterday's quest to find a kitchen table, bar stools and a bedroom set was successful. Brian, Logan and I headed out to the cities to Ashley furniture and Slumberland and didn't find anything. Everything we looked at was either too expensive or not really what we were looking for. We were discouraged and ready to call it a day and head home. Then Brian suggested going to Rivertown which is right in St. Croix Falls, Wi about 25 mins from our house. He had been in there a week ago to buy me a recliner after the surgery and saw a kitchen table that he liked. We got there at 3:30 and they closed at 4, but I really liked the kitchen table that Brian had liked and they had matching bar stools. And then we found a bedroom set that we liked that was middle of the road quality and reasonably priced. It's so nice to have that stuff out of the way, but I wish we would have just got to Rivertown to begin with instead of wasting the entire day in the cities. Oh well at least we found stuff we like for a reasonable price.

Then we headed to Nicole and Ben's for dinner. Thanks Nicole and Ben! and Terri and Brian! We had a blast and can't wait for our next get together and next time I'll bring the food and I'll get drunk with you....

Today we had more visitors. First Grandpa and Grandma Steffen came over to visit and then Kristi, Jamie, Jody and Kelly came over for the afternoon to hang out with mom and Logan. Brian and uncle Dan spent the day cutting brush and working in the sheds. Then tonight Grandma Meyer, uncle Bob, aunt Carey, aunt Janelle, and uncle Peter came over to visit.

Tomorrow is Logan's one week checkup. He woke up this morning and his left eye was goobered shut. Dad thought he scratched his eye, but then someone mentioned he might have a clogged tear duct, so we'll have to wait and see what the doctor says tomorrow. Either one of those two would be fine I guess I just don't want it to be anything more than that. And of course mom is constantly whipping at it and it drives Logan crazy. Mom's a picker, always have been and always will be, so I'm sure he'll be plenty sick of me picking at his nose, eyes, ears, etc. by the time he can talk...

Woodland Creatures

Yesterday we had some visitors. Three deer came walking into the yard and came right up our driveway. Brian was SO excited! He took about 15 pictures of them and some video as well. It was excitement overload for BMeyer with the geese flying over and the deer literally 10 yards from our front door. He was so disappointed it wasn't bow season. Spring turkey opens soon though so he'll get his chance to shoot something then. Oh and I forgot he's going to shoot pigeons on Sunday so that will be fun for him too.

Today Logan and I had our first outing. I had my one week dr. appt. Everything went well. I'm still not allowed to lift anything over 20 lbs for another five weeks and I can't start working out for another 5 weeks either. Waiting this long will be super hard for me, but I can at least start walking. Hopefully the weather gets nice and Logan and I can go for some walks down the road. Monday is Logan's dr. appt. I'm very excited to see how much weight he's gained since we left the hospital!

After the dr. appt we went into school to see Daddy. Of course mom forgot the camera and didn't get any pictures of Logan in the shop with dad. The kids were excited to see the "new little Meyer".

Tomorrow I think we're heading to the cities again to Ashley furniture and Slumberland furniture to find a kitchen table and some bar stools. Then we're going over to Nicole and Ben's for dinner.

Oh and we did give Logan his first bath on Wed. night, but I didn't take any pictures. He HATES getting lotion put on him and he HATED his bath. It wasn't a full bath cause his umbilical cord hasn't fallen off yet, so I'll wait and take some pictures of his first real bath. Hopefully he'll like that better than the sponge bath. Ok daddy will be home from softball practice in 15 mins so I better get dinner started.

Dad back to work

Well not much new at the Meyer Ranch. Daddy went back to work today so it's just me and Logan all day. We make a good team so it works out well. Although I'm sure Daddy misses us and wishes he could have stayed home longer. Although daddy gets to stay home all summer with Logan and mom has to go back to work. :-(

Brian finished the tile floor in the shower yesterday and got the first course of wall tiles laid. There are a few pictures, he wasn't real pumped that I was taking pictures while he was working, but I didn't get in the way too much. I just keep telling Logan, "You're daddy knows so much stuff and he's going to teach to all of it so don't worry."

There are some more pictures of Logan too. I took some video yesterday too, but I can't find the video camera cord so I don't have any way to get it off the camera. We'll have to pick one up this weekend when we're out.

Ok, Happy Thursday everyone!

42 Weeks

One thing I forgot to post yesterday was that when the nurses did the gestational test on Logan after he was born, they determined he was actually 42 weeks. The nurse said he was "over cooked" I think they determine this based on the length of their fingernails and how wrinkly their hands and feet are but I'm not exactly sure. There's really no point to this other than, the entire time I thought I was farther along then the dr said I was and can you imagine how little he would have been if he was born two weeks earlier? I really grew a lot in the last two weeks and I can't imagine him coming two weeks earlier. So again, really no point...

Today was a big day for us. We headed out of the house about 11:30 and went to Lowes and finally purchased the rest of our tile for the bathroom! YIPPEEEE!!! We have the tile! Yeah we had to drop a bunch of money on it, but we finally have it! Then we headed to Home Depot and ordered blinds for the house. We really need them in the living room and dinning room and figured while we were at it we'd just order them for the rest of the house too. So there's another bunch of money on blinds, but I'm really glad that's over and we've ordered them. Two weeks and they'll be in and ready for Brian to install. Logan did GREAT during our little outing! He literally slept the entire time...well except when daddy changed him and when mommy fed him, but other than that it was lights out. The lady's at Home Depot made me sit in an office chair and roll around the window treatment area. They couldn't believe I was up and about after having a c-section. It was funny cause the one lady actually hollered at me and scolded me when I got up from the chair to go look at something. She said, "That's why I gave you the one with wheels, now sit down and wheel over there." When we got home mom was pretty whipped out and took a nap, but I feel good now. And as for Logan...well he's still sleeping...it's his favorite thing to do these days...

Tomorrow Logan is one week old...I just can't believe it...

First Easter...for kids 3 and up...

Yesterday auntie Janelle brought Logan his first Easter gift (mom and dad were slacking and didn't get him anything...) but the funny thing is the little Easter bunny Janelle got for him says, "Baby's First Easter" yet the tag says "for ages 3 and up". Looks like we'll have to hang on to that little Easter bunny until he's a little older...

Some other pictures of his first Easter at Grandpa and Grandma Steffen's house. You'll notice in the picture with my parents that his crying...according to Dad this is because of all the Packer stuff around him...but according to Mom he was just hungry. And in the last picture you can get a feel for his Shrek hands. Like father like son!

We're Home!

We'll I'm Baaack! First I want to say a HUGE Thank you to my wonderful husband! He's been absolutely AMAZING these last four days! Waiting on me hand and foot, running errands, and he's been in charge of diaper changes ever since Logan got here (as mom wasn't able to stand for a couple days and even now needs her rest.)

I also want to thank everyone for the well wishes, prayers, flowers, gifts and most of all LOVE. Even as I type this I'm overwhelmed by how many people already love Logan. Thank you so much and I can't wait for all of you to meet him!

Here are a few pictures of our friends little boy Connor and Logan. Connor loves "baby Logan" and gave him his first "Excavator".

Things have been going really well for us. Logan is so precious (and I'm sure this will come as a shocker to everyone) LOVES to eat! He's only lost 4 oz of his birth weight and I'm sure has probably put that back on as well. He was circumcised yesterday so was a little fussy in the morning, but slept pretty much all day. He really really doesn't like getting his diaper changed now and I can't really blame him. He's a very good baby...so far...I now it's early yet, but he LOVES to suck on ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. It's a little hard to tell when he's actually hungry and when he just wants to suck on stuff, but it's super cute when he sucks on his hands. I'll try to take some video later of his facial expressions, he's got great facial expressions, lots of smiles and frowns (obviously just gas, but still super cute.) He does have the LONGEST fingers and toes I've ever seen on a baby (I'll try to take pictures of those too) but what do you expect with Shrek as a father! ;-) I'm so lucky to have Brian here!

Ok, he's getting hungry and sick of waiting for mom to finish blogging. Here are a few pictures of our trip home yesterday. He had a cute little green outfit on, but as soon as we finished zipping it up he peed through it, so we had to go with one of the yellow outfits. Still super cute though!

Oh and Happy Easter everyone....it's so weird that it's Easter...

Our Little Eater

Thanks to all who called, blogged, text messaged, sent things, visited, and prayed. We are onto day 3 with little Logan, he and mom are doing great. Mom was worried about breast feeding, he seems to have it figured out. I just wanted to a apologize if yesterday's post seemed a little scattered... it was a long night... I was a little excited! Anyway here are some more pictures. See you all in blogland later! B Meyer

Cletus is here!!!

Logan Cletus Meyer/Brianna Marie Meyer arrived into this world March ??, 2008 at ??:?? a.m./p.m. He/She weighted in at ? lbs ? oz. Mom and baby are doing GREAT! Mom made it through the ? hours of labor with no pain meds! What a champ! Here are a few pics, with more to come later.........

Sounds like an easy enough job for a husband fill in the blanks and make this post to the blog, but beggars can't be choosers! Logan did arrive yesterday, @ 10:42pm. He weighs in at 7lbs 3 oz and measures 19.5 in. As for the rest of the story, just few a changes. We really had hoped the baby would come before Easter, and boy was Theresa ready. She went into labor yesterday around 10:00 am and was doing GREAT until about 8:00pm when she stuck at 7cm for about 3 hrs. With contractions as intense and as often as we agreed to do some pain management, (intratheical???) well Logan didn't like that his heart rate went crazy as low as 80 as high as 205 and jumping around rapidly, we began prepping for an emergency C section. Theresa was awesome during Prep and throughout the surgery!!! I don't know how she did it. My nerves were stretched to the max! He came out crying with a full head of hair. I just goes to show you can't plan everything. Thanks for all of you support, and prayers! We are truly blessed.

Winter Wonderland

Just a few snap shots of what it looks like outside our windows this morning. I thought/hoped we were done with the snow for one year, but I guess you just never know in Wisconsin in March. Although the one good thing is Brian didn't have to plow last night. The other good thing is I'm working from home now until after Cletus comes so I didn't have to drive in the snow either. Not much else new at the Meyer Ranch. Tomorrow I have an appt for a prenatal massage to see if that can get things going. We shall just have to wait and see....although if nothing else the massage will be very relaxing!

Shirt

My sister-in-law found this shirt. Isn't it great?!?!?!

Still no baby yet...

Still no baby yet...for me or for Ruger. This weekend our friend Zach brought his 3 year old chocolate lab, Dixie, over to breed with Ruger...but things haven't "taken" yet if you know what I mean. They seem to like each other, but maybe the chemistry just isn't there? We tried all day Saturday and Sunday. If she comes over today maybe we'll have to try a candle-lite dinner with some soft music followed by dancing. Then maybe we'll get out the puppy porn and see if that works....If Ruger doesn't seal the deal soon, his big brother Bo is close by willing to take his turn...

As for me, I've been trying everything all weekend long to get Cletus to come out. I did a lot of walking around Wal-Mart on Saturday and cleaned the house like a crazy person afterwards. Then Sunday Debbie and I took Stella for a walk and BMeyer took me for an "adventurous" 4-wheeler ride. Numerous times I thought I was going to lose an eye, but luckily I had a helmet on. I got a pedicure and manicure on Sunday hoping that would help, but nope still nothing. Brian hooked the whirlpool tub up for me too on Sunday so that was very relaxing. Oh well I guess, he/she will come when their ready. I have a prenatal massage appt for Wednesday morning and then we have our next dr. appt on Wednesday afternoon. We'll see what the doctor says then. Everyone keeps telling me the baby will come at the most inconvenient time, (which any time is fine with me, so I'm not really sure what that means....) But then they tell me that Easter will be inconvenient so the baby will come then. If he/she wants to come on Easter that's just fine with me!

Cabient door and drawer have arrived....at last!!

We finally have a cabinet door and drawer front!! It came on Wednesday and Brian was so excited he started dancing around the house. It looks great and the kitchen finally looks finished. We've only been waiting on this cabinet and drawer front since November. We're still waiting on the tile from Lowes in order to finish the master bathroom. It's a bit of a race...which will happen first, Cletus arrives or we get the tile for the bathroom...

~ 1 week to go...~ 1 cm dilated

Our appt yesterday went well. Cletus still hasn't dropped yet. Our dr. checked me yesterday and said I'm about 1 cm dilated, but still really thick. We have another appt on Wed. March 19th, the day before my due date. Our dr. said she doesn't like to let people go much past their due date, cause the baby can start to lose weight. She said if we want she'll induce us next Thursday March 20th which is my due date. Brian would like us to do that, but I'm a little hesitant. For some reason I just want Cletus to come when he's ready, but I also want to make sure he's healthy too. I don't know what we'll do. Next Wednesday will tell us a lot. In the meantime I'm going to do A LOT of walking and eating spicy foods and all the other wives tales that help you go into labor...

The other exciting thing is I think I felt my first Braxton Hicks contraction last night and maybe another one this morning...but I really don't know for sure...

Elizabeth Jane Jacobs

Angie and Luke Jacobs (our good friends from college) had their baby girl yesterday. Elizabeth Jane Jacobs 8 lbs, 21 1/2 inches long. I haven't had a chance to talk to them yet, but I'm so excited for them!! She was due the same day as me March 20th, but her dr. wanted to induce her early (not sure why). As far as I know everyone is doing well, but we'll find out more once I talk to them.

We've got another dr. appt today. We're going to check to see if I'm dilated today, so that will be interesting. Although even if I am dilated it could still be a while until Cletus comes. His father told him yesterday if he comes on March 18th, 19th or 20th he would buy him a 4-wheeler....if Cletus is his father's son, he'll be here one of those days...

Stella's Baptism

Here are some pictures from Stella's baptism. Stella is such a cutie and did great the entire day. Always smiling! During the baptism all she wanted to do was play in the water and kept reaching for it while Pastor Wayne performed the ceremony. Stella LOVES paper too, so while Pastor Wayne was reading the baptism script she was trying to pull the paper out of his hands. It was pretty funny. She finally got to play in the water as the pastor performed the actual baptism and then didn't want to let go of the metal tray the water was in. Dad had to pry her hands off of it. Afterwards everyone went back to Brian's aunt Sally's house for lunch and to celebrate Brian's cousin and goddaughter Naomi's 15th birthday and the baptism. Stella really liked all her gifts...well to be honest she liked the tissue paper the best... Thank you Sally for lunch and the cake was delicious!

Brad and Lauren Lubenow stopped by Sunday afternoon too. Brad and Angie gave us some more stuff for Cletus and Brad was nice enough to bring it out on Sunday. Brian, Brad and Lauren went down to the ice shack for a while and did a little ice fishing. Lauren was so excited that her dad caught a fish and was playing with it the entire time. She wanted to take it home in a bag of water and put it in the bathtub. I'm sure Angie would have loved to have a dead sunny floating in her bathtub...luckily Brian convinced her to let the fish go before it died. There's a few pictures of her with her fish on here too. She's such a cutie!

Sunday afternoon Debbie and I met some of my high school friends for dinner. It was really great to see everyone and Kristi you look so great! I'm so excited for you and Tim. (They're expecting their first baby in the beginning of June.) I will definitely let you know once we're home with Cletus and you can stop over and visit.

Overall a great weekend. Saturday was very relaxing. Uncle Steven stopped by for a while on Saturday to just hang out, so it was great to see him for a while. My mom and dad are home safe from their vacation in CA and had a great time! Oh what it's like to be an empty nester....first I better figure out what it's like to be a parent....one step at a time....

It's back to chaos for BMeyer. Girl's softball starts today and then he's got Tech Club until about 8:30 tonight. Everyone's been telling us how crazy our lives are going to be once Cletus gets here and I'm sure it's going to be...I just can't imagine how much more crazy it's going to be for Brian....
