Boating

Friday night was a BLAST at the Twins game (well except for the two really really drunk guys behind us that kept yelling at the players and swearing...I know I know drunk guys at a Twins game...go figure, but they were just stupid!). The Twins won 7-6 against the Brewers. It was a close game with a lot of action and the Brewers fans were into it as much as the Twins fans so it was a ton of fun. Logan didn't really like it when the fans would cheer, but once he fell a sleep he was fine, plus he was helping to keep Grandma warm.

Then Saturday the Lubenow's came into town to go boating on the St. Croix River. It could have been a little warmer. It was one of those days that I HATE! It's cold one min when the sun goes behind a cloud so you put a sweatshirt one or cover up and then the next min it's hotter than blazes because the suns out again and you have to uncover again. Aside from the weather though it was a really fun day. We stopped at a sandbar and the kids got to play...even the big kids a.k.a Brian, Dan, Mikey played in the water! Logan pretty much slept the entire time, he was up for a little bit and then fell back to sleep. Which was fine with me cause I was a little nervous about taking him on the boat in the first place, but everything was fine, so accidents. After boating we came back to the Meyer Ranch and just hung out for the night, grilled some brats and drank some beer. Thanks Brad and Angie for the fun day Saturday! We'll have to do it again when the weather is nicer!

Sunday was a relaxing day hanging out at uncle Dan's house for Logan and Mom. Dad played in a softball tournament all day Sunday and unfortunately they got second place. We didn't have to play co-ed softball cause the other team didn't have enough players. Now we don't play until July 20th...hopefully we'll come back better than ever, cause we're kind of on a losing streak right now...

It's a short week of work this week!!!

Family Pictures

Family Pictures were a success the other night. Sorry I don't have any to post though, we went to Proex and we didn't get the "on-line" package. There are some good pictures, but the photographer was a little weird. Logan fell asleep in the car on the way there, so he was tired when we got there and of course didn't want to smile. The photographer was way too over-bearing for Logan, he just looked at her like she was crazy and would start to fuss. Brian, Heather, and I were trying to get him to smile and she'd stick her big head in there and start screamin' at him. She also would try to tickle his stomach by squeezing his sides, but she would do it kind of hard and Brian and I don't really do this to him so he was just confused by it and of course didn't smile. Then she'd say to him, "What's your deal?" I'm like lady he's 3 months old and tired, what the hell do you think his deal is? Anyways, we did get some good pictures and that's all I wanted. They do these cool composite things now where they can take 4 different pictures and combined them into one, so I think we're going to get one of those.

Yesterday BMeyer headed across the state of Minnesota with his brothers Dan and Peter to visit their uncle Gary and aunt Mona in South Dakota. Dan bought Gary's "old" truck so they went to pick it up. Old is in quotes because I believe the truck is a 2005 or so, so it's not really that old. It's a good truck for Daniel though. Logan didn't make the trip though. My cousin Heather baby-sat all day. The boys left at 5 a.m. so Heather just spent the night so she was there in the morning. THANK YOU Heather! Logan loves hanging out with you and you did a great job! I can't tell you how blessed we are to have family close by that can help out when you need them!

Tomorrow night we're going to Logan's second Twins game. The Twins are playin' the Brewers so it should be a fun game. My Mom and Dad and brother Steven are going and they're Brewers fans, and my cousin Kim, myself and Logan are going and we're Twins fans (although we'll cheer for the Brewers when they're not playin' the Twins). The last time these two teams met it was good for the Twins, so we'll see how this series goes...and we'll see how Logan does at his second Twins game. BMeyer's got a softball tournament on Friday so he won't be able to make it. Good luck babe!!

Alright, I better get to work...Happy Thirsty Thursday Everyone!

Rice Cereal

So two nights ago we decided to start adding a tbsp of rice cereal to Logan's last bottle before bed. He was still getting up pretty much every two hours at night to eat, but would only eat a little bit and then fall back to sleep again. So in an attempt to help him feel fuller longer we've tried the rice cereal. The last two nights have been better, he's slept from 9 until 3 or 3:30, eats between 3-4 oz and than goes back to bed. We'll see how things go. We've also started putting him in his crib now. He slept in his crib on Friday night when Mom had to get up with him and he naps in his crib now. We're thinking of trying to feed him his first meal of rice cereal in a couple of weeks. It should be fun and I'm so excited! He's growing so fast, I can't believe he's over 3 months old already!!!

Family pictures tonight...hopefully we'll get some good ones!

P.S. You'll notice I haven't posted about Logan's sleeping patterns before, mainly because I didn't want to jinx us...so hopefully I haven't done that now...BMeyer I apologize if I have and will learn my lesson quickly!

Cool Dude

Sherri got Logan these sun glasses when he was born. He looks so cute and doesn't even mind when they're on.

Logan blowing bubbles. It's his favorite thing to do now, just hang out in his bumbo chair and blow bubbles...

Shrek's hand and Logan's hand...I wonder if Logan will have hands as big as his dad's someday?

Naked boy playin' on the floor...

Guess who he got his lungs from... :-)

This is Logan rolling to his side. He's gone farther than in the video, but of course won't do it when the camera is on...

This weekend was my cousin Tyler's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding! The colors were gorgeous! The wedding reception was fun. Since there was free beer and a dance, I decided that would be a good time to get drunk for the first time since Logan has been born. Brian had his turn on Friday night when he went to CountrySplash with uncle Dan, Ricky and Jensen, so Saturday night was mama's turn. I didn't get completely trashed but I was drunk. I'm sure at Meyermainia III I'll be worse...the next day won't be fun...maybe I'll take Monday off of work. Ok, this is sad that I'm planning when I'm going to get drunk, but as a parent it's just too hard to function the next day...man I feel old!

Today we just hung out at home. We play softball at 8 tonight. I really hate the 8:00 games, but at least they're not 9:00 this year. Hopefully we'll do better than last week!

Oh and I wanted to give a small update on Jovie and Jaylee. They're doing well I'm told, we haven't been to see them in a while. Grandma Meyer said they've gained some weight, I think they're up to 3 lbs 7 oz and 2 lbs 11 oz now, which is good. Jaylee is in a bassinet now instead of the incubator and Grandma Meyer even got to hold her! We're continuing to pray for them and hope that they'll be able to come home soon!!

Videos

Brian's first Father's Day was pretty much like any other day. Logan got Dad a Mike Redmond Twins shirt so that when the three of us go to the game we can all wear our Twins shirts. And he made him a card as well. We just hung out at home and then played softball at 5. We didn't have a good game and ended up getting 10-runned.

So yesterday I was playing with Logan on the floor. I was rolling him up on his left side and then rolling him over to his right side, doing that back and forth. I got up to get something to drink and when I had left him he was flat on his back. Then Brian asks me "Hey did you leave him on his side?" Here Logan had rolled over onto his side all by himself. I couldn't believe it. We thought it was just a fluke so we laid him flat on his back again and sure enough he rolled over to his side. I don't think he'll actually roll all the way over soon, cause his arms were in the way, but he's getting close. He rolled up on his left side and his right side. Even Grandma Meyer and Janelle saw him do it! He sure is growing up fast...

Here are a few updated videos of Logan. In the second one you can see how he's grabbing at things more and more. He's really starting to figure out his hands and feet.

Antsy Pants

At the Meyer Ranch we're very bad at getting the mail. Our track record is to get the mail about once a week, mainly because we live on a hill so we can't just drive up to the mailbox and get the mail. You need to pull into the driveway, get out of the car, walk to the mailbox, get back into the car and than drive into the garage. So if it's raining or even night time, I usually skip getting the mail.
So the other day I finally stopped to get the mail. There was a ton of mail in the mailbox because we hadn't gotten the mail in over a week. So when I got back into my car to drive into the garage I just threw the mail on my lap. I was just about to put the car into drive when I looked down and in horror realized that my entire lap was covered in ants. The was a swarm of ants all over our mail. The jumped out of the car and threw the mail on the ground and immediately began brushing ants off of my pants and arms. They were every where! All over the seat in my car and all over me. And there so fast they just spread like wild fire. So I walked the mail to the garage and then went back, got into my car and then drove into the garage. After that I had to shake out every piece of mail to get the ants off of it before I brought it into the house. Once I got inside Brian's like what the heck took you so long in the garage? So I filled him in on the family of ants living in our mailbox. We really need to do a better job of getting the mail...

Later that night, I was sitting in the chair and all of a sudden I felt this thing moving around in my pants...I still had ants in my pants!! I had to go take a shower...it was so gross!

Movin' and a Shakin'

Logan is really starting to move a lot lately. He's constantly kicking his legs and waving his arms around. He still LOVES to stand up and if you hold his hands and have him in a squatting position he'll even push himself up to standing all by himself! The other day we laid him down to play with his kitty and when we came back (only after like 5 min. so don't worry we didn't leave him there for hours...) he was turned almost 90 degrees from the way we laid him down. He kicks his legs up and lifts his butt off the ground and starts twisting. I haven't actually seen him move, but I'm going to try to get some video of it soon, so stay tuned for that. He's getting so big already it makes me so sad. He still fits into his 0-3 month clothes though and yesterday Brian even had him in a newborn outfit. The sleeves were a little short on him, but other than that it still fit. I do need to go through his clothes though and pack away all the newborn stuff and get out his 3-6 month clothes. He's going to be three months in a week....I can't believe it...three months already...where does the time go?!?!

Fun in the sun

New Friend

Logan made another new friend this weekend, Elizabeth Jacobs. Angie and Luke made the long trip across the state to hang out with us and let me tell you it was an adventure. They left Saturday morning and would have been to our house by about 2:00, but unfortunately they were rear-ended in Baldwin. No one was hurt and there was hardly any damage to the vehicles which is good. What a way to start the weekend!?! Saturday was Janelle's graduation party, so once they arrived we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma Meyer's house to join in the celebration. It was a great day. The boys roasted a pig and everyone was playing volleyball in the front yard. Elizabeth even joined in on the game....well not really. Angie, Debbie and I were sitting on the sidelines with the kids watching the game. Elizabeth was sound a sleep in Angie's arms when someone accidentally shanked the ball and hit Elizabeth in the head. Poor girl was so startled and of course immediately started crying. Everyone was so concerned for her. She was fine, she didn't have a concussion or anything which is good. But man what a way to be woken up, taking a ball to the melon. So Saturday was a big day for Elizabeth, first car accident, meeting a new friend, first athletic injury...

Sunday was another fun filled day. We went to visit Ruger's puppies. We breed Ruger around the time that Logan was born with a friend of ours dog Dixie and Dixie had the puppies the same day Jovie and Jaylee were born. So Sunday morning we went to visit them. They're so cute! Then we went to the flee market. That was a first for Angie, Luke and myself. I had never been there before and let me tell you it's a very different world. It must be the place where carnies hang out when they're not at the carnival and of course it's a prerequisite that if you're going to have a stand at the flee market you must smoke. It was fun though. Then the boys took Luke to the Rod and Gun club to shoot trap for the first time. He did great, he shot better than Dan does! :-) Luke liked it so much he said he's going home and joining the Appleton Gun Club! Then Sunday night we were short a girl for softball so Angie filled in for us. She did a phenomenal job! We wished she lived closer so she could play every week! We won the first game and unfortunately lost the second game by 1 run. They were both good games and a lot of fun...although by the end of the second game I was ready to be done. It rained almost the entire time too, but it was warm rain so it was fun to play in. All-in-all it was a great weekend and it was so nice to see Angie and Luke again! We really wished you guys lived closer so we could hang out more. Elizabeth is beautiful and such a good baby!

Here are a few pictures from this weekend. I have more pictures on our home computer which I will post later.

I have the BEST Husband!

Well Mom survived her first full week back at work....although it's not quite over yet, but I'm sure I'll survive the day. Things are starting to pick up at work, and I'm very excited for the new projects I'm on. This Pod Communicator is back in action!

I'm completely done breast feeding. Logan's been on straight formula for a week now. We still have some frozen breast milk in the freezer, but Brian's saving that for when Logan gets sick. The straight formula diet isn't completely agreeing with Logan. It definitely affected his bowel movements...poor guy. And for some reason Logan has decided that he no longer wants to sleep at night. I'm not sure why, but I'm thinking the switch to straight formula probably has something to do with it. The last two nights at 3:30 he's wide awake and ready to play. You'd like to be disgusted with him for being awake at that time, but he's so happy and smiley it's so hard to be mad at him. So hopefully we'll figure out how to get him to sleep at night again. I know Brian would really appreciate it!

Speaking of Brian, I wanted to let everyone know that I have the BEST husband in the whole world!!! Not only is he the best husband but he's the best dad too! He's been doing such an amazing job taking care of Logan since he became a stay-at-home dad for the summer. I think he's done a better job taking care of Logan than I did when I was at home. And not only does he take great care of Logan, he still manages to get a TON of stuff done around the house! Way more than I did when I was home with Logan. I don't know how he does it, but he's amazing! Babe I love you!

This weekend Angie, Luke and Elizabeth Jacobs are coming to visit! I'm so excited to meet Elizabeth and to see Angie and Luke again. It's been so long since we've gotten together and we've missed them! Janelle's graduation party is on Saturday, so that will be fun and than Sunday we've got a double header for softball...and of course they're 7:00 and 8:00 games. Monday this mama will be draggin' a$$!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Kitty

Logan is getting so big so fast, it makes me sad. He LOVES to play with his kitty. You can see from the pictures that he loves to swing and bat at the black and white cat. If he spins the ball around it plays a little musical tune. It's so cute to watch him playing with it. Before he would be swinging wildly at it, but now he's starting to be able to actually grab it and hold onto it. He's really starting to figure out how to use his arms and hands. And he's starting to laugh more too. This weekend uncle Mike was tickling him and he would smile really big and start to giggle.

Scrapping...spelled with 2 p's!

Not only did Mom go back to work last week, but she spend her first weekend away from Logan this weekend. Friday night I went to a scrapbooking retreat with some friends, and didn't come home until Sunday afternoon. Scrapbooking was a TON of fun and I got a marginal amount of pages completed, but of course I would have liked to have done more. Logan and Dad did great together, Brian's really turning into Mr. Mom. When I got home from scrapbooking he had the house spotless, carpet vacuumed, floors swept, the whole nine yards! I'm a lucky girl! I missed Logan (and Dad) like crazy, but I think it was good for me to get away and have a little girl time. Dad spent the weekend helping his brothers clean out his parents barn. They're getting ready for Janelle's graduation party next weekend. Then Sunday was our weekly softball game. We won this weekend 11-4 (I think?) It was so much fun, plus the weather was nice!

I forgot my camera at home today, so I'll post some pics later and give an update of what's new with Logan!
