Jail Break

Last night Cody did not sleep at all. He got up at 12:30 and basically cried until about 2. We tried everything, giving him Tylenol, bottle, rocking him, sleeping with us. At one point we just put him back in his crib to cry it out because we just had no idea what was wrong with him. No more than two min after we put him in his crib we hear a big bang. We both sort of look at each other and wait, holding our breath...sure enough...little stinker fell/climbed out of his crib. He opened his door and was walking down the hall crying. He has completely fine, just upset that we put him back in his room. Finally we got him to sleep...no idea what was really wrong.

So today I worked from home with the boys...which is completely impossible to get anything done with both boys at home. One boy there's a slight possibility...but with both boys, no way! At one point on a phone conference Cody just starts screaming at the top of his lungs. It was a happy scream, but a scream none the less. My co-workers thought I was torchering them.

So needless to say I was looking forward to nap time so that I might actually be able to get some work done. I put them both down for a nap at 12, quickly answered a bunch of e-mails and IMs and then jumped in the shower quick before my 1 meeting. I get out of the shower and am on the call for my meeting at 1:15 and again here a big bang from upstairs. I'm thinking, there's no way he just climbed/fell out of his crib again. So I wait for the screaming to start, but it doesn't so I figure it was him kicking the side of his crib or something. About 2 min later I hear him playing with the toys in his room that are on the floor...sure enough he climbed out of his crib. About 5 min after that he opens his door and comes out pushing his shopping cart, happy as a lark. He goes up to Logan's door right away and starts, 'nok, nok'ing on it.

Looking back it's pretty funny actually...but what are we suppose to do with a 16 month old that climbs out of his crib already? I don't think he's ready for a big boy bed yet...but I also don't want him to keep climbing out of his crib in case he hurts himself.

Dang Meyer kids....

Frog in my throat

Well things have been interesting around the ranch lately. Logan came down with a fever on Sunday night and developed a pretty bad cough. He kept telling us, "There's a frog in my throat" every time he tried to talk and couldn't. It was pretty funny, but also of course worrisome. I stayed home with him on Monday and by Tuesday he was no better. Brian took him in Tuesday and the doctor was of NO HELP AT ALL. She basically said, "Yup he has something...not sure what it is...if he's not better in a couple days you can start giving him these antibiotics. Goodbye." Brian and I were so discouraged and upset. So we continued to give him Advil every 4 - 5 hours to fight the fever. But by Wednesday afternoon he was still no better so we filled the antibiotics prescription and started him on that. Wednesday night his eye started swelling up and getting red and puffy. We called the nurses station to ask if he was having an allergic reaction to the antibiotics and they said he's probably not, but to watch him if he wasn't better by morning bring him in. Of course in the morning he was fine, so we gave him another dose of antibiotics. He's doing much better now...although he shared his cough/fever with his little brother...how nice right?

I'm so glad he's feeling better, but it's so scary and stressfully when you have no idea what's wrong with your child and there's no one to go to. Thank God we live in the world we do; with the advances in modern medicine and the technological advances, but they don't do much to calm a worried mom's nerves late at night when he little one is feverish and sick.

Anyway, with the kids being sick and Brian and I taking turns staying home with them things have been a little off this week at the Ranch. We LOVE the nice weather and only wish we could have gotten out in it a little more...but soon enough it will be nice out!

OK, going to sign off for tonight. I'll try to get some pics this weekend and post them. Oh and a HUGE thank you to Grandma Meyer for watching the boys on Thursday!! Thank you! You're the best!!

Goodnight Everyone

Crazy Eyes

Logan got his glasses on Friday. He's been doing really well with them and has only asked to take them of 9382 times since Friday night. :-) Here's a couple short videos of him playing. He won't let me take a picture of him with his glasses on yet...not sure why. And apparently I developed a stutter in the first video...

Crack that Nut

Logan loves peanuts as much as his Mom does. We love to sit on the counter and eat peanuts. He couldn't really crack them at first, but then Grandma Meyer showed him how she cracks them when she can't get them open...

[Note: Please disregard Cody crying in the background...he's teething]
