Logan's Third Trip Around the Bases

Wow...if there's anyone still out there reading this...I apologize. It's been way way too long since I posted something here. It's not for lack of content...with two young boys there is plenty to post about...like how Cody pushed himself through the gate at the top of the basement stairs the other night and went tumbling down. He caught himself 4 stairs from the bottom. Poor kid was scared, but survived. He hurt his toe and had some scratches on his belly and back, but other than that was untouched. Lucky little kid. He was pretty cute walking around the house the rest of the night pointing at his toe going, "Hurt, hurt".

Or how we went to Rochester with the Sherman's last weekend and had the pleasure of sharing in their unbelievability great news that April doesn't have to do radiation! The tumor is completely gone!! See more info here. We had a blast at the hotel with them! There was an indoor water park that the kids LOVED!! My boys really do have no fear though. Within the first 5 min of being in the pool area Logan had already made his way over to the stairs of the largest water slide and was planning on heading right up the stairs to the top. When I stopped him he turns to me and goes, "I want to do it myself Mom." No way Mister...but he did LOVE going down with Daddy over and over again. I have a bunch of pictures that I will try to get uploaded some day soon...

But the biggest news around the house lately is Logan's 3rd Birthday. Seriously where does the time go? He's 3 already? 3 years ago I was a "trying to figure out which way the diaper goes on, freaking out every time he spit up even a little bit, waking him up in the middle of the night just to make sure he was still breathing" first time Mom. It seems like only yesterday in some respects, but also seems like an eternity ago. I can't imagine my life now without my little Meyer Munchkins, who make me smile and laugh each and every day. They truly are the heart that beats outside my chest. I find myself some times watching them play or when Logan looks at me and says something funny or sweet to me, actually feeling so much love that I think my heart will literally burst right out of my chest.

Logan's no longer a toddler, but a KID. A KID. He's grown so much over the last year and especially over the last few months. He talks all the time (just like his Mom) and LOVES to ask questions. He's insightful and inquisitive, always wondering why something does what it does or why we have to do x or y. He never forgets to remind me in the mornings if I forget to remind him to put on his glasses. Saying, "Mom you forgot my glasses." He likes to do things on his own that I'd rather help him with and asks for help with things that he knows he can do on his own. He still won't eat great at dinner time for us...but we've recently learned he eats breakfast and lunch great! He's a bully to his little brother, but also loving and supportive. Whenever I tell him we're going to do something or get something (like a sucker or cookie) he immediately turns to Cody and says, "Cody you want a sucker too?" Never forgetting about his little brother. He loves to paint pictures and read books and watch cartoons. He can't wait to get outside and play on his playcenter and drive his tractor again. He's creative and I love to listen to him talking to himself in his room when he should be sleeping.

I asked Logan what kind of birthday party he wanted to have and he said, "A Baseball Party". So that's what we're having. I have a bunch of baseball park food planned and some baseball themed crafts for the kids. He's so excited for his party and especially excited that his cousin Stella can come. My sister is coming home for the party as well and we're so excited to see her!!

My little man is 3 years old...It's funny that that statement makes me so incredibly happy and sad all at the same time. I think you never truly understand how powerfully you can feel conflicting emotions at exactly the same time until you're a mother. I love you so much my little man, my first born, my son that taught me how to be a Mom. I hope you had a great birthday and have a great birthday party!

[I apologize for the spelling mistakes as well...it's late and I can barely see straight...]
