New Friend

Logan made another new friend this weekend, Elizabeth Jacobs. Angie and Luke made the long trip across the state to hang out with us and let me tell you it was an adventure. They left Saturday morning and would have been to our house by about 2:00, but unfortunately they were rear-ended in Baldwin. No one was hurt and there was hardly any damage to the vehicles which is good. What a way to start the weekend!?! Saturday was Janelle's graduation party, so once they arrived we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma Meyer's house to join in the celebration. It was a great day. The boys roasted a pig and everyone was playing volleyball in the front yard. Elizabeth even joined in on the game....well not really. Angie, Debbie and I were sitting on the sidelines with the kids watching the game. Elizabeth was sound a sleep in Angie's arms when someone accidentally shanked the ball and hit Elizabeth in the head. Poor girl was so startled and of course immediately started crying. Everyone was so concerned for her. She was fine, she didn't have a concussion or anything which is good. But man what a way to be woken up, taking a ball to the melon. So Saturday was a big day for Elizabeth, first car accident, meeting a new friend, first athletic injury...

Sunday was another fun filled day. We went to visit Ruger's puppies. We breed Ruger around the time that Logan was born with a friend of ours dog Dixie and Dixie had the puppies the same day Jovie and Jaylee were born. So Sunday morning we went to visit them. They're so cute! Then we went to the flee market. That was a first for Angie, Luke and myself. I had never been there before and let me tell you it's a very different world. It must be the place where carnies hang out when they're not at the carnival and of course it's a prerequisite that if you're going to have a stand at the flee market you must smoke. It was fun though. Then the boys took Luke to the Rod and Gun club to shoot trap for the first time. He did great, he shot better than Dan does! :-) Luke liked it so much he said he's going home and joining the Appleton Gun Club! Then Sunday night we were short a girl for softball so Angie filled in for us. She did a phenomenal job! We wished she lived closer so she could play every week! We won the first game and unfortunately lost the second game by 1 run. They were both good games and a lot of fun...although by the end of the second game I was ready to be done. It rained almost the entire time too, but it was warm rain so it was fun to play in. All-in-all it was a great weekend and it was so nice to see Angie and Luke again! We really wished you guys lived closer so we could hang out more. Elizabeth is beautiful and such a good baby!

Here are a few pictures from this weekend. I have more pictures on our home computer which I will post later.
